I have wide feet and get my shoes from here these days, I love them and they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever wore. Now got 4 pairs.
I remember you posting about them earlier this year, I will have to bookmark it for when I need some. Do they do them fly flots in shops anywhere so I can try them first?

  • The shoe issue...
    6 pairs flat ballet pumps
    5 pairs boots
    2 pairs trainers
    1 pair shoe boots
    5 pairs high heels
    3 pairs slippers
    3 pairs flipflops
And still at my parents house...
    4 pairs high heels
    2 pairs boots
    3 pairs flipflops
    2 pairs summer sandals
    36 pairs... Is that excessive?

Today I have done a load of homework, put away laundry, cleaned the kitchen floor, cleaned the hob, and tidied all my shoes to count them :D

Do I get stars? I've finished two days! Just need to finish the kitchen and get on with the living room and landing tomorrow. BF has lagged all the pipes in the airing cupboard whilst I was watching Strictly and then screwed hooks onto the back of the tv stand, rolled up all the wires and hooked them up, as well as cleaning under/behing the tv. It was a good idea, but it doesn't look any better! Our tv stand has no board behind it, so you can still see all the wires! Oh well...

Hope you're all enjoying your Saturday nights. By the way, I reckon I have about 25 pairs of shoes, although I probably only wear 10 of them regularly...

I have a question about cleaning windows, what do you use? I have a solution in a bottle (shop bought) that works well. However we have some marks from the suckers the window men used to put the windows in and I can't get rid of those. They show up in the bathroom with the condensation really badly and some finger marks too. What will get rid of them?

Hi honey - I am not very good at these trick questions:rotfl: - what about white vinegar - although that is probably whats in your shop spray - or meths - can you feel it with your fingers or is it just when its wet?

Hopefully some of the other flying experts can help:rolleyes:

Greenbee, I’m sure you know but the passport checking service at the post office is well worth the money – they noticed that I’d put that day’s date as my DOB and it saved me lots of time and money
Thanks - I think the post office strike will be on by the time I get the form and the photos sorted :o - but once I get my work Amex card I can then use their passport service (as quite a lot of people need them doing urgently for work!). And I'll be able to book my tickets... it's only about 3 weeks away now!

Toots & soappie are right about the chocolate. Coffee, alcohol & cheese are also often triggers. Mine is dehydration or too much sugar. It might be worth doing some research, but the best thing to do once it has started is to drink plenty of water, not eat too much (just enough to go with any pills if they need to be taken with food) and to rest in a dark room until the pain has gone. You may well feel slightly "hung over" for about a day afterwards. TV & computers don't help because of the flickering and the light. When you're better, it might be worth doing some research.

Greenbee - remember the first aid mantra for sprains - RICE - rest, ice, compression and elevate - you need to sit about doing that and nothing else for a while! :D Seriously, I hope your bruises and grazes heal soon xxx

I know... but I didn't have time for the R, I or E bit! I did, however, strap it up very tightly, so there isn't really any swelling, just a lump at the front. I think I might have done something nasty to a tendon (I guess I'll find out when I go to the physio!). I haven't had a fall for years, and it may or may not be connected to the pain I've had recently, but it did make me realise that I need to get myself a collapsible walking stick for emergencies... I currently just have hiking poles.

Toots - I've put some arnica on already, and I promise I'll put more on before I go to bed. And I am thinking very seriously about the job - I have until the end of my three-month probationary period to get out, so I'll see how things go over the next few weeks. It's sad, as I think that the work itself is something I could really enjoy, and the CV points from this role would be pretty fantastic!

I've cleaned the fridge and am making some tomato & pepper soup from the over-ripe bits I found in there... DW needs emptying by I CBA... I will try to sort out upstairs tomorrow at some point.

I've just been looking at my lovely new suitcases. Similar to this and this and this (but not at anything LIKE those prices). First time I've bought decent suitcases with compartments, and I can see that (once I've learnt how to pack properly :o) they make travelling a lot easier! Now I just need to get some quick-drying gym kit so I don't need to take so much with me...
