Well, it's not something I would be likely to attend, but I don't think it's the height of tackiness deserving of some of the outbursts on this thread. I certainly wouldn't put anyone down who did think it was a good idea.

I gather from other posts it is for charity? Well what is so different to wearing a decorated bra on a moon walk, or wearing a giant bunny suit for a marathon? All tacky, but charitable, and can help save lives.

I don't think anyone is looking to recreate their wedding day, just a chance to wear a dress again they probably spent a lot of time and money getting right.

When it comes down to it, people who attend those sorts of events are more likely to be up for a good laugh. I prefer those sort of people to snobby types who look down their noses at others.
