Removing mould from kitchen items?

I wonder if you can all help.
I have a wedding present tea pot that only comes out when the inlaws come round. I am the only one to drink tea in the house, so not worth it just for me.
Anyway, I think it must have been hastily put away last time without checking it, and I have found a mouldy teabag in the teapot.
I have been able to peel it off the sides and rinse it out with boiling water, and for several days it has been rinsed and rinsed again.
My question is how do I get it clean. Boiling water alone won't get rid of the bacteria inside, and it has a rather musty smell.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks0 -
Soak it overnight in boiling water with some bio washing powder then rinse rinse rinse to get rid of the taste, I once founs some cabbage in my hot cupboard in February when it had last been used for Christmas dinner, the dish came clean and usable after a bit of a soak.0

I used white vinegar to get a mouldy tangerine off my hiking rucksack and that worked a treat, no mould left and no smell :T0

After good scrub, boiling it should kill the spores but instead using Milton tablet has an added bonus as it bleaches to remove any tea stains of your teapot or mugs.Money is not the root of all evil.
It depends on how you obtain it and how you use it.

Do you have a dishwasher? That would do the trick if not I use bleach and boiling water... A little harsh I know but my mum use to use bleach to get the stains out of cups pre dishwasher and never did anyone any harm as long as you wash in hot soapy water after and give good rinse.
If bleach isnt your cup of tea - no pun intended :rotfl: white vinegar is another good one.

Don't use bleach - it can damage the surface of china and make it more prone to staining.0
