well as a cwu member i believe the strikes are caused by management actions with no regard for the public

i also believe the majority of staff want the service to be more customer orientated than it is now
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)

I'd go and get your parcel as soon as you can before there is no-one there at all because all the lazy beggers are on strike.

postman being pressured by management to complete D2D items in their own time

No its probably that they are short staffed that day and that your walk is on over time or they went out with the first lot of mail delivered to them, once delivered went back to office to find second delivery and went back out with that.

    2nd delivery? whats that

D2D items are to be delivered within duty time.why would you want to do your delivery then go back out to the exact same delivery for 1.67p per item?

Local postie delivers at the same time everyday...11:20am on the DOT! Except at weekends, when it usually arrives about 8 (when I'm in bed)

Local sorting office is open 7am-12:30pm, so I have fewer hours. But luckily I have an OH who goes to work early so he can get parcels for me :D

Although thinking about it I received a letter on Tuesday that was posted out first class had a postmark of 14th September so I am beginning to wonder what else is lurking out there. Even so I don't really have any problems with Royal Mail since I moved from Bury to Castleford.

It does get on my wick though when everyone kicks their toys out and goes on strike, postmen, bus drivers, bin men in Leeds who haven't emptied bins for a month. If it were up to me I would get rid of them all and take on some of the millions of unemployed who would give anything for a job to pay their bills.
