royal mail- yes someone else hates them

Part of the reason they are going on strike is because they want to alter there hours and make them have bigger rounds.
In our town they already did this 2 years ago and now we get our mail at 12ish.
I dont mind tbh as long as it comes0 -

plenty of my customers get mail after 2pm
bigger routes
an office moved further away from the deliveries
van duties 'collapsed onto the foot deliveries
grief every day for working over
grief if you 'threaten' to cut and finish on your time
now being told to leave mail to ensure D2D (unaddressed 'junk') are delivered
if your routes havent been changed since 2year then theres more to come
wait till you see the new round of georoute software calculated duties0 -
OP, why don't you just arrange a redelivery for your day off? You don't have to phone or visit the delivery office as you can do it online. That way you won't have to wait 5-6 hours to get your parcel/s (although I think you are exaggerating slightly here?)0

Well of course it isn't open long enough Custardy! Your office should be manned 24 hours a day and free coffee and cookies given to everyone who comes in. While they wait for their parcels they should be given a free manicure/makeover/hairdo/shoeshine and then given 100 free first class stamps for any inconvenience. While they wait in the queue, an off duty postie or one on a break, should pop outside and wash and polish all the customer cars too0 -
We had our postman come back at 6pm to delivery the junk mail he delivered the normal mail at 1pm , i thought it was rather odd, is this a new thing do you know Custardy ?
I saw mine doing this, but thought he was just doing the deliveries as a side job!
I love my postie - I make best efforts to ensure I am in random states of undress when he rings my bell ... whatever the time of day!Gone ... or have I?0 -
I have no problems at my sorting office, I have never had to wait more than 10 mins to get my parcels and they are really nice in there.
I sent my 16yo son to get a parcel and they wanted id which he forgot, but another guy there used to see him leave the house with his guitar
He was given the parcel
Also my postie is the most helpful guy and I hate it when he takes hols0 -
You know only a minority of people will be nasty to you if your nice to them. So maybe if you go in to the sorting office with the mindset above even if you don't make scarcastic comments or complain or moan to them maybe they just pick up on your anti-royal mail vibe.
By the way you know you can have you mail redelivered when your home or to your nearest post office who probably have longer opening hours than your sorting office if it upsets you that much.
erm.....i have to pass the (usually closed) sorting office on the way to work
oh and my objection with royal mail is down to how the management run the company, then again i should put in big letters on my sig
'i am a cwu member'
