  • Hi everyone,

been a busy bee today but don't seem to have got anywhere

This morning I rang student finance regarding my maintenance loan, as uni said I should be entitled to more. student finance agree with this and have asked me to send them proof of earnings so they can review my entitlement.

Also emailed the bursary people to see how long my application will take to be processed, also asked them if they can help with tuition fees in anyway as I read in their info booklet they can help up 1200 or something like that?

I rang the council tax office, as Im applying for council tax reduction and they advised me that as I will be a full time student, OH should complete the form. So sending me a new one out for OH to fill out.

Still need to complete hardship application form, started it yesterday and plan on finishing it tonight.

Have been looking at ways to make transport to and from uni cheaper. A return train ticket is £8.20 and a day rider on the tram is £2.70 making travel exspenses £10.90 a day, bearing in mind i'm going 5 days a week so thats £54.50 a week

I've discovered I can get a weekly train pass of £31 which makes each journey £6.20 also found that I can purchase a 9 week tram pass for £61 which works out £1.35 a day so new travel total per day is £7.55 which works out at £37.75 a week :D

Also I have wrote my notice for current job :eek::eek:

I am however looking for part time weekend work to boost my income, and have asked current employer if they have anything, they are going to let me know.

I have to work 4 weeks notice, so I am due another 2 pay days of full whack wages, which I need to use VERY wisely!

OH has done my head in today with his attitude, but thats a dif story all together!

Just seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and thats debt free with a degree under my belt, and a well paid job (well thats the dream!)

How has everyone else been today?

PS, not used my phone today :D

  • Hello my lovely. As you were so kind as to come into my diary I thought I would repay the favour. :) Look's like you're doing brilliantly, maybe I can take some inspiration off you? ;) Think I'll need it!

Well done on not using your mobile for a whole day, if you're anything like me this will have been tough. I'm currently trying to cut down on using mine (and not using the housephone as a substitute :o).

I should take some inspiration for you on the heating front too, mine currently goes on every morning and evening. I just hate being cold. :(

Starting uni sounds exciting, and daunting at the same time! I just do an evening course at college on top of working full time. Can get stressful so I can sympathise there.

Anyway I best stop filling up your diary. Hehe. Ive subscribed so will be back soon.

  • Hi everyone - just a quick post today as just got back from uni and off out again shortly!

Thanks for the post catwhiskers, as you are a cat lover i feel the need to share my experience with you... I have a 6 month old kitten who has just started going out in the big wide world and yesterday he brought a mouse into my house  was horrendous but I did the right thing and praised him and gave him lots of love and thanks for my "present"

Anyway thats irrelevent to my debt busting

Having a bit of night mare with Lloyds tsb - I have posted a thread on this in debt free wannabes so if anyone would like to have a look to see if they could help it would be greatly appreciated!

Not done so well on the phone front today - been sending lots of texts today - woopsie! but still had no heating on :money:

I've found ways to reduce travel exspense to uni and now I am looking at ways to reduce other costs as it seems all I do is eat and drink while there :rolleyes: today I bought...

A cup of tea and sausage cob on the way into uni.
A bottle of ribena and flapjack at breaktime
A Ham Sandiwch, Sausage roll and crisps at lunch.

I have been good in trying to choose cheaper options, and also making the drink from break time last till lunch but still its a ridiculus amount to buy in one day!

Anyway so much for my "quick" message!!

Speak to you all tonight - going to my friends for a take away tonight, did decline the offer as I was skinto but shes offered to pay bless her :D

    Hi everyone,

thought i'd send a quick message, not been upto much today, went to collect my wedding dress today, not sure what to do with it now? I keep thinking I should sell it, but part of me also wants to keep it so i can wear it one day (but is that just sad?)

Have to go out later and get my dad a bday present, no idea what to get though.

And then tonight were going out for a bday meal, when i get home though i'm going sit down and make a list of all outgoings and the dates that they need paying as thats whats confusing me at the mo I have dates coming out my ears, also going to speak to OH and suggest I take care of EVERYTHING, its easier that way having one person overseeing it all.

I asked him to pay gas and electric for me one week and he did it a week later, and now he's saying that gas and electric isn't due again now as it was only just paid last week and im trying to explain to him that he paid it late but he just doesnt get it at all

Anyway have to run will be back later X

Hi, been into town and bought my dad 2 shirts (£6 each) and a nivea smelly set (£4.99) plus a birthday card, also ended up buying myself some candles, but they were only £2.99 so not too bad

OH kept asking me to buy him a shirt for £10 but stuck to my guns and said no!

Also messaged my friend whose birthday is next week and told her im really sorry but I cant attend as I can't afford it, which is a personal milestone for me, cos usually im always up for a night out!

and now i am going to scan the net to find out where i can use my student discount card :D

    Thanks for reading :D
