  • Hi everyone - happytogetdebtfree thank you for your forecast it made me smile! well paid £50 off the nationwide overdraft and paid my gas and electric today also rang Northern Rock today as I fell behind with payment :( they were lovely AGAIN they asked why i was in arrears and i explained i had left full time work for part time and had returned to studies, and was waiting on student finance as it still hasnt been sorted, she seemed understanding and i think there is a few people in the a similar situation - also in a strange way its slightly comforting ringing the collections department and being pulled on hold for ages due to a high volume of calls - makes you think its not just me then :o

Im thinking ebaying is the way forward for me now to top up finances, me and oh have made £329 in the last couple of weeks selling on ebay - i still have all my wedding stuff too which i tried to list but the camera didnt work and then i put my dress on pre loved but no luck, thinking of putting it on after xmas, maybe some lovely ladies will have had some xmas and new year proposals! and will want some stuff! but we will see!

Hope everyone else is ok and doing a better job than me at debt busting lol xxx

  • Hey moneytroubles,

Have been reading through your diary and wanted to say congratulations! Looks like your making excellent progress considering going back to uni and taking a pay cut :T

I'm currently studying, but from home and work part time, and am looking to go to Uni on campus in 2011, so I'm really trying to get my financial situation as sorted as possible before then, because it looks like I'll be having beans on toast for three years :D

Anyway, keep up the good work!

  • Thanks for the replies everyone, sorry i havent been posting as much lately but just snowed under with work!

i paid my overdraft payment late and yesterday i received a letter, which was obviously sent before i made the payment, but it made me soooo angry.

I always always pay more than the agreed amount, and get no acknowledgment for this and then the one time i pay it late i receive a letter saying

"were disappointed that you have not sticked to your agreement and therefore you need to pay the full amount"

I was go angry, the tone of the letter was so patronaising and insensitive, so i rang up and explained i had put the money in the bank it was just a couple of days late, and then the cheeky mare said to me on the phone, well the amounts not big, can you just clear it now? does anyone else find that rude? or is it me being oversensitive, the balance is 297 poiunds so altho not a big sum, its too much to be paying out 2 weeks before christmas, im so upset that i am writing a letter of complaint, prob get me no where but will at least make me feel better!

Anyway sorry for the rant, mad a PAD of £2 today on very xxxx
