  • Hi wondered if anyone on here could help me?

I have a sentinel mortgage payment protection policy that incurred a rate interest in June, it was around a 10% increase. The policy is an annual renwable policy but I pay for it monthly via a finance company. Does this mean that I will be entitled to a refund of the increase even though this an annual policy (paid monthly). I've been told annual policies do not count and its only continuous montly policies that are entitled?

Does anyone have an update with regards to the Adminicle MPPI policies that several of us seem to have. I wrote to them just like several others have and got exactly the same response. This was about a month ago now.

I understood that January is the deadline to offer new policies and begin processing the price hike refunds which for some of us (me included) are worth quite a lot.

Should we keep waiting? Or cancel now and find alternative, cheaper cover? If I cancel now, is there a risk I won't get a refund?

    Thanks for any further feedback/advice...

  • Hi Mansun, I believe they have until June to pay out.

If you were to cancel you would still qualify for a refund. I'm using my refund a a small savings vehicle.

Adminicle are only the administrators of the policies the payment of refund will come from the insurer

To anyone on here who has an Adminicle (ex Ant) policy...

Have you received a letter stating your policy has now moved to Trent Services (at a suspiciously local to Adminicle address) ? I'm trying to gauge if this is a common action or specific.

Additionally I recently emailed Adminicle again, to be told that no decision had been made as yet.

In view of this movement, and no communication from Adminicle / Ant I'm going to write to the ombudsman to lodge a complaint., and also let Adminicle know this.

Bit of extra pressure never hurts

Yes, I have received exactly the same letter on Saturday.

I didn't know about the ruling until after I received the letter, smelt a rat and decided to investigate on here. I always thought the policy transfer and price hike back in June 2009 was very dodgy and unfair to say the least.

I have just sent off an email to Adminicle demanding my automatic refund.

I have also stated that I am concerned about yet another change in provider (the so called "Trent Services" also of Cirencester) and that unless I recieve a satisfactory response and confirmation that I will receive a refund by June 2010 I shall be contacting the financial ombudsman to complain.

    Hi all

I was in the process of trying to switch and spooted this refund story! I was with Assurant @ £30.63 up until 05/09. From 06/09 I was being charged by Adminicle @ £61.19 - I even had to phone up to ask who they were as I never got a letter telling me. So just written a letter to Adminicle asking when my refund will be paid, so far including this month that's £275.04 which would be quite nice :) Will post any responses...

However also got this move to Trent Services letter to start in March... stating my premium will be reviewed in June 2011!!! Looking at the Trent Postcode (GL7 6JN) and the Adminicle Postcode (GL7 1XD) they are very close as said......the Trent one also looks quite residential in google maps Elizabeth Road it points to, which isn't the Stroud Road as stated on the letter. However putting the postcode into Royal Mail address finder comes back with 'Stroud Road' but shows the same map pointing at Elizabeth Road..... error with Royal Mail's postcode data perhaps or something more...?

I'm trying to switch anyway, iProtect turned me down so off to try some others, don't trust these guys at all now. But even Click4Cover seem to be related to Trent/BBH looking at the bottom of their T&C doc.
  • i have my MPPI policy with Payment Shield,
i was un-aware of any of this until i recieved a letter informing me that i will be getting a refund in April yippee..

the letter went on to say my premiums would remian the same as last year, but thye will refund me the increase in the premium for that previous year.

to be honest i didn't even know it had gone up extortionately, i just pay the DD,

not a massive amount, approx £50. this is a good night out or a couple of family take aways.

this will be the first refund of any kind i have ever had, (haven't even claimed it).

lets hope Lloyds and Barclaycard are as efficient???
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free
  • Sorry might not be in the right place but on search this showed up all my criteria.
Mods please move this if necessary.

I have recieved a letter this am from Adminicle telling me they were unable to process a DD with regard to my ins policy and that they would be adding the payment to next months.

Any issues call 01285 886600 dead line!!!

looked in to my DD's at bank Adminicle cancelled the DD on 3rd Feb and a new one with the same reference No was set up on the 24th By BBH SHELTER LTD (Trent Services) this DD has been set up with a reference telephone No that is a Mobile No.!!!!!!
I left a message to get back to me but still waiting.
I am hoping the adminicle letter is an internal admin issue.
I seem to be lucky as my policy only went up a fiver a month last year.

All just adds to the concerns raised

Just had a letter from helpucover (Pinnacle) to say that they are refunding the amount of the increase in the income protection policy we had. I did write some time back and was told that they would (if they felt necessary) make the refunds and it is being paid direct to our bank in 4 working days.

I am pleased about this BUT we always were covered anyway through my husbands work and we are having to cancel anyway as we cannot claim on BOTH. He has had cover for a personal plan at work since 2001 so this has really been useless to us as we cannot claim on both. Oh well, you live and learn.
