Funny thing about common knowledge is that it is only common amongst those that know about it. Thankfully the law still requires companies to ensure as much as possible that customers understand about the use of their products. This is becoming more and more complicated with the kind of products we have today. In this case most judges being out of touch with the real world would probably feel sympathy with the OP as they themselves would not have a clue about modems adn roaming.DarkConvict wrote: »I thought it was common knowledge that the internet on phones was expensive, even more so abroad and that websites like youtube/iplayer take up alot of bandwidth. But i guess not.

IMO the director is a twit! He could have bought a new dongle for about £50 or phoned orange and increased his plan etc etc. Shame is has to impact a small biz

So you know more about dongles and mobiles than this director. The chances are that you probably know an awful lot less than him about his job so would that make you a twit?Tomlewis007 wrote: »IMO the director is a twit! I just don't understand how the director had enough knowledge to actually get the mobile set up as a modem (no mean feat!) but not the knowledge that he would be sorely stung for data over GPRS on a mobile phone SIM card! I think the solutions have been covered here, and they all cost money! See if you can negotiate them down to half, then take a quarter out of the Director's wage!0
