  • i have just found your page on this store and am glad (in a weird way) to read that am not the only one going mental about the disgusting service offered to customers by the staff of harveys. since november 2011 when we bought two sofas, life has been hell to get our money back or exchange. dont know what to do. called all the numbers, staff not interested! any chance of all of us getting together, writing a legal letter asking for our monies back or should we just march up to their head office to protest?

Hi, just stumbled across this thread and can't believe Harvey's are still causing problems. I had problems with non-delivery of a bed 2 years ago.

They kept changing the date and eventually I told them I couldn't wait any longer and wanted to cancel and have my money refunded so I could buy one elsewhere. The salesman said I couldn't as I had a contract with them. I asked to speak to a manager who repeated that and said I would be in breach of contract if I tried to cancel.

I had paid for the bed on my credit card, so contacted the cc company, put everything in writing and they took it up for me. They reclaimed my money back for me and I bought a bed elsewhere with no problems.

I will never use Harveys again, not only because of the problems with delivery but also because of the heavy-handed way they dealt with me. I am more than happy to share my experiences of Harvey's whenever someone mentions buying furniture.

I think they need a thorough overhaul of the way some of their store staff and especially their managers deal with customers and try working with the customers to resolve their complaints instead of using bullying tactics to try to get them to back down.

    End of sermon ;)

Tomorrow will be the 12 month anniversary of the Harveys Company rep last posting on this thread, . Perhaps MSE should send them a card reminding them there are still unhappy customers here? It's 6 months since they even visited MSE, perhaps they've decided customer service is not a priority.
  • Can someone give me an email address that works, I have written and telephoned CS, but I still want to send an email. Any help would be great. Many thanks RRB
  • I bought a sofa from Harveys in 2011 and within a few days their technical staff had to repair it as it was faulty. I later found out it was not repaired properly . i rang Harveys in 2012 to tell them and they told me i had to get an independent report done, that cost 100 pound!l They then sent their technical staff to have a look at it, that was 6 weeks ago and i have not heard from them since. I have been ringing Customer Service (peak rate line) and waiting, and waiting but no reply after nearly 30 minutes!!! Head office say its nothing to do with them. Does anyone know the address for Customer Services (am hoping they may reply to a letter, but i doubt they will!)
    please help!

after 18 months of dealing with their customer services this week i have had a result , i have 2 4 year old sofas with a number of problems and a 5 year guarantee . this week i eventually emailed the md of Harveys with a stern but not rude email telling him how useless his customer services are. 4 hours after sending this email we were contacted by the director of customer services and had a house visit by the distribution director of the uk, the result being i am now keeping my sofas and having a large refund which i think is down to them trying to portray themselfs in a better light. If anybody wants the contact numbers/ email addresses for these 2 people i will happily pass them on if you pm me

    cheers
  • hi hammer 68 do you have the email of the MD you used to contact harveys please as with many phone calls to them about my faulty 2 seater chair im getting no luck?
this company needs professionally looked at about its after care or lack of it? would take me hours to tell you my complaint but bottom line is they never deal with the problem and never call you back when they look into it? different people each time you ring and each time one doesn't know what the last person is dealing with....
    avoid at all costs!!!!!
  • I bought my item 12 February 2013... I am still waiting!!! Only to find out they have cancelled my order but won't give me my refund. I'll take them to court if I have to !!

I bought a two seater three seater and a 6 seater dining table with chairs ! 1400 pound I spent!
  • What is their reason for not refunding you??

  • We ordered sofas to be delivered yesterday. Had confirmation that they would be here between 12 and 7. They didn't arrive. At 6 pm we phoned to see if they were close by. We were told that the driver was en route and would call when close by. No call, no sofas! Got in touch with customer care to be told that we would get them on saturday! We have no sofas as we gave the others away. We have 3 children aged 10 maths, 6 and 9. How can a company operate like this!
