Gee, my very own stalker [another one to add to my growing collection].

I hope you enjoy reading all my previous posts - an amusing blend of grumpiness, intolerance, and genuine niceness, all delivered in your choice of styles - humorous, opinionated, grumpy, ironic, sweetness and light, sarcastic, or from the hip; you choose.

    Dealing with your questions -

'mnay' - this is an example of a 'fatfinger/fastfinger' typo [see my prev post on this very thread], and as such feel free to look for them.
'coz' - various choices found on the web [1. because, 2. Cause, 3. City of Zanesville, 4. Cosmic Air, 5. CSX Transportation, 6.CSX Transportation Incorporated]. However in the context of your posting I infer that you are referring to my inappropriate 'slang' use for 'because' - for which I can offer no excuses; I hope it didn't cause you offence. Caught red-handed, I shall look to improve and to make my postings clearer.

    What word is "mnay"?

    What word is "coz"?

In my Grammar School days I could not imagine correcting someone for their use of vocabulary with a phrase that said "What word is "mnay"?
    "What word is "coz"?
    I think "What word is
" hardly constitues a proper phrase. Correct me, of course, if I am wrong.

    Congratulations :-)

You've no doubt destroyed 2 peoples careers a few weeks before xmas, all for, somewhat innocently cutting your childs hair... and don't give me gumph of it being assault, it's hardly life threatening and I doubt they weren't intentially being malicious.

Although to be fair on the OP, they should of simply admitted it, apologised, and explained why the first time. The fact they were keeping stum, and all this news lately of abusing children, probably why the CPS was all over it.

The only people responsible for the destroyed careers are those who committed the crimes. It IS assault, perhaps not the most serious, but assault against a child who is in no position to defend themselves. They didn't try to defend themselves but admitted it by pleading guilty.

Why should anyone have sympathy for them. Giving milk to a lactose intolerant child is in fact a great deal more serious and may well have led to charges on its own.

We haven't seen the PMs BFG sent. I'm not trawling back through every single post to see what he said and when, but I would imagine that he was indeed offering advice on spelling and grammar, thinking that the person might be glad of it. Is there actually anything wrong with that? Now, if the person's spelling or grammar can't be helped, I can understand them reacting very angrily. Perhaps things then escalated, ending with 5 messages in their inbox. (Maybe... we haven't seen any of the messages).

Here you go, make your own minds up........

    My 1st PM was

    HYDM….
.. but when you're talking about 'possessive' it's 'their' not 'there', eg their policy, their car, etc

    HTH
    END

Sadly I deleted the response, but it was to the tune of…..

    SO WHAT!!!!!!
I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU SAY!!!. DON’T SEND ME ANY MORE PMS!!!!
    END

    I replied

    1. Stop shouting.

    2. I was merely trying to help you understand the correct use of there/their.

    3. If you want to continue to parade your obvious ignorance for all to see, then feel free to do so.
    END

And then sadly I gave into the urge and sent ….

Don't worry........as per your request, I won't send you any more PMs.
    END

And finally [having set it up with the previous PM]….

Sorry.....but when I sent you a PM [explaining that I wouldn't send any more PMs], it didn't click that I was actually sending you a PM [which you didn't want].

    Won't happen again......again.
    END

So as you can see it’s hardly ‘5 threatening PMs’, rather [IMO] a polite PM, a response to a ‘shouty/snotty’ reply, followed by 2 PMs saying I wouldn’t send anymore PMs [whilst sending PMs’].

It’s not my fault some people had their sense of humour surgically removed and replaced by skin so thin that it makes tissue paper look like 3 ft of reinforced concrete, is it??

If you agree with Thin-Skin Thicko – call 09090875647.

If you agree with Chief Pedant – call 0909864364

All calls are £1.50 and a percentage goes to line the pockets of Ant & Dec, err I mean a charity.

You've spelt f*** off backwards, do you need a lend of my dictionary?

I see what you've done....you've taken a bit from my signature and put it in your posting!

    How droll.

I dunno. As a mum I would have been far more concerned about the milk incident, but it appears that the OP was more concerned about the impromptu haircut. Personally, I'd be bl**dy annoyed if a nursery telephoned me every time my kids got a bit of paint on them, and I think ruining two peoples' lives over such a trivial incident is terrible.

And I would just add that just because there is a law against something, it doesn't make it wrong, either morally or logically. Homosexuality used to be illegal, and apartheid legal.

The only people who haven't given any advice and behaved as wind-up merchants throughout this thread are yourself and Mr BFG.

Strictly speaking your post should have a comma after '...advice' and '...thread', otherwise it reads incorrectly.

i thought this forum was for advice?

this thread provided me with some great advice and support, and then a few trolls decided to try and ruin it.

i personaly don't mind, i can just ignore the idiots.

but if new members come on here and see how stupid some posters are it could put them off asking for help

    Advice? Troll??

It should actually be 'personally'.....[and 'caps' and full stops would be nice too].

See what I did?? I gave advice and acted as a troll ...all at the same time. Hang on, if I give advice [a good thing?] how can I be trolling [a bad thing?] at the same time???

Surely they must be mutually exclusive??

It's this sort of post [above] that gets MSE a bad name, and stops people posting.

    Stop it immediately.
