    Great news! :j:j:j:p

I'm sure you are relieved! What's the plan for today Cecilia? Why don't you do something really nice for yourself? A nice bath? Do your nails? Something simple and free? x

My nails used to be my pride and joy, now they are chewed to the quick!

Todays highlight will be popping up to the doctors in a couple of hours to pick up a prescription, then cooking curry for dinner - yum yum yum!!!

Lol I remember that from my student days :) (which were only 2 years ago, wow I sound like my mother)

BTW I'm not sure who the 'real life' comment was directed at but if it was at the poster I think it may have been at, I don't think she meant it as you took it, and I think she made a valid point. I was at boarding school when I was younger and hid myself in the routine, it made it much easier not to have to think about what was going on outside. I didn't really start confronting things in my past and myself until I was at uni and didn't have a routine, so it may do you good in the long run to have to be self-sufficient and form your own routine and confront what you need to.

Obviously I may have totally misunderstood the situation with your comment, if I did please feel free to ignore it! :o
:D**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

    Hi Faith

Just checking in to see how things are going - and see it was relatively "easy" at signing-on time today. So - that's good.

One more step down then...and it was okay..

I've been thinking on about your first post and it does indeed strike me that the life of a nun - or monk come to it - would indeed (from what I know of it - which isn't much:o) rate as "structured, quiet, calm". There is nothing either right or wrong about a way of life like that - it's just down to what suits the person concerned.

Some of us like our life to be like that - others would absolutely hate it - and most of us probably come somewhere in the middle.

One thing it seems to me is the case is that one might feel the need/wish for a more structured/calm lifestyle when things have been more chaotic in one's life....I may be wrong on that one....but it seems to be the case with other people I have watched on the one hand...and I myself want the "basic elements" of my life to have a certain degree of structure/certainty - to form a sorta "rock" from which I can then go out "exploring Life". I guess there is a balance to be achieved - and where the optimum point lies in seeking that balance varies from person to person.

Personally - I'm not happy/at ease with the sort of person who likes to stir things up in their life/thinks its "b...o...r..i...n...g" if there's not some sort of trouble/problem/hassle going in their lives - and takes no regard for the fact that that outlook tends to impact negatively on those of us who just find that attitude stressful and aggressive. On the other hand - I personally couldn't live very easily either with a lifestyle that said "at 8a.m. I will be doing this everyday/at 4pm I will be doing that everyday, etc". It varies from person to person as to what suits them as regards degree of "structure/certainty" in their lives.

We all live in a world that is currently changing at a much faster pace than has been the case for centuries and that certainly isn't easy to deal with. I often feel like turning round and shouting "WILL you just keep things the same even just for a year or two at a time - rather than this constantly having to adapt/adapt/re-adapt all the darn time?" - but that's not the way our Society currently is unfortunately (well - some people might love it that way - but most of us don't...). So I have some understanding where you are coming from.

Maybe that's one of the things your Prioress thinks might be useful from this time "out in the World" - ie having to cope with uncertainty/constant change - and trying to take the attitude of "oh well - what can I learn from this latest thing that has happened in my life?". I may be way offbeat on that - 'tis just my thoughts....

i'm glad the job centre was quick. i hope dinner was good? i'm not a student anymore, but the 4p sauce is still on the menu around here - especially when using up all the veggies from the fridge - though it is now pepped up with a little extra chiili or curry powder. what did you have in yours?

I'm afraid there was a change of plan:o My 'frandlord' had to work late so has only been home about half an hour and I just couldn't face starting cooking then, so its curry tomorrow. It will be my super-special 'all the veg that really needs eating before I go to Oxford for the weekend' curry!:D
