  • Just wanted to say good luck - been following some of your story through different threads.
Glad that you are getting valuable feedback and encouragement here... My concern is that you realise this isn't the 'real' world and at some point you need to build friends and support networks in the 'real' world.
Hopefully you can follow through on some of the tips being given - there are lots of good organisations out there to offer support (and usually a cuppa too!)

Hi, yes I am TOTALLY aware that an internet forum isn't 'real life'! These forst few weeks I have just gradually been beginning to get myself together and be able to face the world again. Over the next 6 weeks or so a few things are going to go one way or another (sorry, can't give details for now) and once I know literally where I am going to be, then I can properly begin to get to know people etc. That said, my 'virtual' friends are now absolutely priceless! The support has been very, ver real and I will always be so grateful for that.

So glad to hear about your JSA result - I was worrying about you trying to go skip-diving. Looking forward to hearing more news. Eat that elephant one bite at a time.

I've just had good news as well, my son is coming to visit for the whole of half term, my ESA backdate should arrive in my bank account tomorrow and social services have approved the changes to my budget - so it looks as if October has brought the wind of change with it. Hopefully each new week and month will bring more happiness and good news for everyone.

Hi Cecilia! Welcome to the families board - pretty friendly over here.

When I read your story I genuinely can't begin to understand what you have been through and the life you have lived. I simply can't comprehend being kept away from the outside world for so long - but I can understand how it has affected you and made the"outside world" so difficult. Well, I think I can at least to begin to try to understand how unsettling it all is

I feel some sort of strange affinity with you as we are the same age, so I do wonder how I would have turned out had i lead your life (or if you would have turned out living mine? he he) Anyway that probably sounds odd...... but it has gone through my mind

Excellent news on the JSA! Don't know what LHA stands for, but I am assuming it is some sort of benefit.

The only advice as such I can give to you , is to keep on at life. It is never easy regardless of how you have started out your life. You will find strength from somewhere and I am convinced you will make a real success of it, and everything will work out ok.

You know that a lot of people on this site care for you, and we are here to listen any time you need us.

I think you have a very h ealthy approach - day by day. That's all you can do.

Very very interested to know what your possible news is - and am hoping it is good, and positive xxx

    Hi Faith,

Been following a few of your posts and wanted to say hello and well done!

Was actually talking about your post with a friend and fellow MSEr and I think you're doing great, you sound so much more positive now!

Keep at it, chin up and don't let anyone get you down, they're just not worth it!

Yes, I am feeling much stronger now, I still have my moments, but they are less. Most evenings I have a good cry before bed, and that seems to see me through the next day:o

There's nothing wrong with a good cry!

Maybe there are some social groups you can join in your area? Stich and !!!!!? or classes? Learn a new hobby? take up yoga?

Your time will be full before you realise it and you'll be missing the days of having evenings to yourself!

and if not there's always chocolate. :P
