Going to post it on my online resources too as it tells a lot of underwriters.

I can sleep now. I know how much this has done robbies head in.

Yes great idea for your resources thread Marshallka, I have come across one as well, for Endeavour Personal Finance, see that HFC are actually involved in regards of the PPI as well......post number 28.
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Endeavour+personal+finance+underwriter&meta=

Having trouble with puter being slow again posting the actual link, but if you click that above link, it should show as " PPI Inquiry Provisional Findings 2.7".
Fourth one down on Google search page I found this.

Thanks Di, I will take a look. Rang Welcome again today, they do not seem to have a clue! Apparently the underwriter for car finance is different to their normal loan.
Shamrock - was yours a car loan or normal?
    Hi there,
Mine was an ordinary loan with PPI and Medicare added without any explanation apart from it is compulsory to the loan acceptance,;)

    Hi Guys,
Another little update. Well I phoned the FOS and spoke to the lady handling my complaint to ask if any new news. Apparently Aviva are still trying to say it's nothing to do with them but now my paperwork which I had to resend due to the first case closing against Welcome will be resubmitted to them. It takes 10 days to reach the girl who is dealing with it due to all departments it goes through. Then the waiting time is 8-9 months! I am not overly confident about this as cant see how they can make anyone payout???

    Hi Shamrock
    Annoying isn't it?
Bring pushed from pillar to post!

Someone has the responsibility and they try passing the buck, been there with that, and I have since wrote to the underwriters (Hamilton) who are also linked with AVIVA, so again I can see this being a NO once again.

Reading Marshallka's link above, I also posted one as well, you want to check them out, this should help you, you could print off the details.
And enclose a copy to them with any letters you send perhaps.;)

Hmmmmm not back to HFC again.......

    Dear

I refer to your complaint email of 6 October 2009 which has been passed to our department to respond. I would explain that Hamilton Insurance is now part of Aviva.

I note that your policy was sold by Endeavour Personal Finance and that you have complained regarding the sale of your policy. I would advise that Endeavour Personal Finance are owned by HFC Bank and that HFC Bank are responsible for all of Endeavour's sales activities.

As such, your complaint is not one for Hamilton Insurance/Aviva to answer and I am faxing your correspondence to HFC Bank so that they can handle the matter. I trust that they will be in contact with you shortly. However should you need to contact them in the meanwhile, their details are as follows:

    Central Complaints Team
    HFC Bank
    Camden House West
    The Parade
    Birmingham
    B1 2XJ

    Tel 0845 602 3793
    Fax 0121 214 4088

    Kind regards

Don't know if this helps you shamrock from the competition commision

    20. Welcome distributes PLPPI, secured loan PPI and motor finance PPI, all of which are underwritten by Norwich Union. Claims are handled by a third party, Direct Group, which is contracted by Norwich Union to provide the service.

    Hi Guys,
Not posted for a while but this is how the FOS are handling my complaint about Welcome due to them not being regulated on 04/02/03. They are complaining to Aviva the underwriter who have tried to say nothing to do with them. The Broker was Direct Group.
However FOS have rewritten to them as they want answers so hopefully I will get some answers soon. It is all new to them so they cant give any idea of success. I am just hanging on hoping justice will be done!!! Ive promised to update you all and will as letters come in. See my previous posts under not covered by FOS thread. All quiet at the moment.......
I don't think FOS got this right with Aviva being the underwriter?? Posted above for you from an extract from the competition commission unless they did change insurers??

    Thanks Marshallka.;)
Was thinking last night about sending that letter to HFC, so you think I should go ahead with it?
It seems that they did deal with this by the looks of it.

The thing is we did write to them early this year and they did not deal with it because they said it was naff all to do with them......, I reckons I should do some printing off about that above and also enclose them the email from Hamilton.
Even though Hamilton/AVIVA confirm they have send it, I think we should do this anyway.

I have emailed the response to the FOS, and her automated response states she will be back on Monday, do you think I should also post these details of what you found as well?

Thanks Marshallka, if it wasn't for you then goodness knows as I would not have a clue.....:o;)X
