The loan in question is from 2000 and Welcome cannot send me any documentation on it. I know it's a bit of a long shot anyway. I might try ringing them again

    Drat!!
    How annoying!

Well hope they will let you know when you ring then Robbie, you do have the right to know, good luck and post up and let us know how you get on.;)

Robbie, is the time you redeemed the loan 2000 or took the loan out??
  • Hi I took loan out in 2000. I do have a tiny bit of hope because my Black Horse one from 2001 they have agreed to pay out on but that was without FOS intervention.

Robbie, have you also tried posting or checking out the CAG thread as well, there are many throughout the years who have taken out loans in 2000 with Welcome, and they should be able to give you details on who the underwriter/insurer was at that time.

I think that is where I have read things like this over there, or PCF, one of them.;)

"If" I see anything I will post up. X

  • Thanks Di, I will take a look. Rang Welcome again today, they do not seem to have a clue! Apparently the underwriter for car finance is different to their normal loan.
Shamrock - was yours a car loan or normal?
