Does anyone shop at the Tesco in Dudley (West Midlands)- by the castle?
The new one that opened in Quinton last week won't accept vouchers unless you buy the product and I haven't been to the Dudley store before.
Usually shop at Asda, but they're getting a bit funny about accepting vouchers now.0 -

iknow i keep saying it but try to go to a young male cashier as for some reason they will scan anything. young and middle aged ladies are the worst imo for scanning coupons so i avoid them like the plauge!Bad mother to 2!

Husband managed £23 in vouchers at Waitrose last week. I think he chatted up the till lady first though..LOL....anything for a bargain. He bought a load of lovely stuff for over Xmas...I love Waitrose quality but not the prices.
I cant believe we used to shop in there and pay standard prices...gulp!!

After being able to boast about how much I was saving by paying with coupons I had a nightmare boy serve me. I went Tescos to spend my clothing vouchers as I thought they still had the 20% off so was going to use this in conjunction with my other vouchers. This was no longer on so I decided to do a christmas treats shop, knowing I had lots of other vouvhers to use. Felt so stupid when the boy would not even accept one and gave me a big lecture about misusing vouchers. Now I am only 28 but I felt like I was in school and this kid must have been about 16/17 - usually the ideal "Victims".
So what did I save on my shopping today - Big fat £0. And how much of my shopping was bought on impulse expecting not to pay for it - all!!
Moral of the story, for me anyway, use vouchers as a bonus saving on your normal shop. Don't spend the money before you saved it!!:T Benjamin has won!!! Am soooo proud. Thank you to everyone who agreed my baby was the cutiest. Want to go round and hug everyone who voted, it means so much to me!:A0 -

I have complained to the HO not only about their attitude but the racist comments the SA made only to be told they have stopped accepting coupons unless the product was brought since February in all stores:eek:
They're gonna get back to me about the SA's behaviour though.
Seeing where your from I guess it must have been Brent Park, I haven't read your thread yet but I will. I put through a load there on the S/S and used 2 £1.00 vouchers only to be shouted at by the assistant that I couldn't use that many and she would have to void them, which she did. So I stack up all my shopping back on the S/S and told her she could have the whole lot back, and walked out.0 -

Yep, I have had days like that too. It can be so hard to judge cashiers even when they look young and likely to scan anything!
The opposite happens too, doesn't it? You pop in for a fiver's worth of bits & bobs, have no time to do more, rush to the till and the 'unlikely' middle-aged lady cashier scans them all! You just know that if you'd had time to spend £40 she would have scanned the whole total down to a few pence.
I tried to use the Daily Mail £5 off toiletries coupon along with H&B leaflet coupons today, not very successful. The £5 off scanned, so did the points ones, but the till beeped for the £2.50 and £1 off toiletries, even tho' I had bought £20+ of BOGOF toiletries. I guess they can't be combined with the £5 one then, or my store had set their tills differently(?) but I haven't seen the H&B coupons thread to check yet.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I really think it's down to the individual cashier and whether they give two hoots about the company. I've had a very good run recently in both my locals and have saved £100's using coupons. Even tonight I did 2 shops and spent in total £35.47 and handed over £2.05 in cash yet another night I might just get away with a couple of little ones. Best pick a young scruffy haired youth and chat him up !! - he will scan anything then:rotfl: I symathise with the young girls about having to work long hours and if they moan I know I'm onto a winner. I always try and use as many coupons as possible and shop little and often sometimes 3 times a day when time allows. If I think that they will not take them I try and leave a couple of high priced items behind just simply saying I don't want them/haven't got enough cash etc. Remember it's dog eat dog out there and they are raking in millions in profit from us so crawling a bit back is good for the soul.:T0
