But isn't Waitrose super expensive? From what I've seen, you'd be lucky to make a saving, even with the coupons deducted?

I thought that too but not any more. Not only do they have great offers (e.g. 26-packs of Walkers crisps are currently £1.99 till the end of this week - normally £2.98 in Tesco).

They also have different stuff which makes a change, my kids love the Zoo animal biscuits by Bahlsen, you get over 50 little (non-chocolate but yummy!) zoo animal biscuits for 59p at the moment (look for a yellow packet).

I bought a reduced chicken & mushroom pie for £1.49 as it had a day to go on it's BB date...we had it for tea last night and I must say it was MUCH nicer than Tesco! Other threads have said that Waitrose reduce things right down to 10p sometimes to clear items that still have a couple of days to use them, AND any BOGOF offer still goes thru at the tills so you get paid to buy these items (in effect, money off your other shopping).

  • Can anyone tell me how many coupons Waitrose in Lichfield take? Thinking of taking a trip down there if worthwhile.

And if anyone could forward me a copy of the Waitrose email I'd be most grateful.

    Thanks

Waitrose are MUCH more exspensive that others, look at your basics not the odd offer now and again, everyone has offers.

Waitrose own can of Tomatoes 59p or they sell Fortuna Plumb Tomatoes for 35p

How much in Lidl 19P, Tesco I expect will be about the same.

Has anyone tried coupons in the Waitrose in Norwich??? It would be great to know if they take them, without committing myself.

That's what I was thinking. I think Netto tinned toms are 15p! I suppose it depends on what you buy when you shop. I agree with CTC that their pies are scrummy and they do some good 'last minute' type offers but, for me who uses loads of fruit and veggies and cooks things from scratch, my recollection is that i was practically weeping at the check out when I counted up how much extra the stuff cost (I am such a tight !!!!!!, it pains me :rotfl: ). I only go there now if Tescos is out of stock of a needed ingredient as I have to say that Waitrose is always well stocked up.

Yep you are right and I would never do my main shop at Waitrose for this reason.

All I would say is don't be put off and go and see what bargains are to be had, e.g. the Walkers Crisps and Zoo biscuits, I have been doing a separate small Waitrose shop mainly to get these crisps and biscuits ready for my kids' back-to-school lunchboxes. So far they keep eating them so I will have to get some more before the offer ends!

For those asking about particular branches of Waitrose, I would say try it because Waitrose staff are in the main SOOOO polite and helpful, very up on Customer Service. Also as their Head Office has confirmed the coupon policy in emails you could mention that 'your friend' has had such an email...but I shouldn't think you will need to say this.

Yes, BUT if you have coupons, 0p is cheaper than 19p!!!! :j

I don't buy the basics from Waitrose as I only get a certain amount of manufacturers coupons, but I buy some lovely produce and get 50%+ off, so I get the quality at an excellent price!
  • wer do u get the vouchers?
  • You can also find some on other products, ie the pizzas in tescos not long ago where the pizza was £1.60 + BOGOF + £1 vouchers on each pack :P

Asda magazine is another good place to look!
