I had a problem with my local Asda a few weeks ago with vouchers, the company policy is to accept two vouchers if they sell the item. I hope this helps other mse`s who use Asda  :beer:2015 wins £4.00 not mse:(
2014 £44.00:mad:2013 £83.00 2012 £601.50

madauri wrote:Bah. I went to Superdrug this morning with a printed discount coupon. But found none of the several items I wanted to purchase, so I bought nothing.
Later I went to Tesco with this quarter's vouchers (but forgot the money voucher). I used them all and saved a whacking 10% of my whole shopping, plus got a fair amount of clubcard points. Not bad!
Correct me if I'm wrong.....you didn't, surely not, did you...use your Tesco Clubcard vouchers as money off your shopping?
Please tell me you didn't, I would have offered you more than face value and so would 200 or so MSEers behind me! If you did then - please - read the Tesco voucher threads and Martin's article 'never spend Tesco vouchers instore', then see if you still want to do so again.
Maybe I've read your post wrong, please excuse my shock though.
(To think this time last year I shopped in Sainsburys, never used money-off coupons unless I bought the item and rarely used Tesco...and yes, in the past I did sometimes use my couple of pounds worth of Tesco vouchers at the till - not now that I get a couple of hundred pounds worth though!).

Yep, like any other Supermarket tills, Sainsbury's tills scan coupons and it's possible to do this....I did so once but I don't think I would try regularly as it's not their policy and it would only be a matter of time before a jobsworth Sainsbury's-till-I-die cashier sternly asks 'have you bought these items?'.
At least in Tesco or Asda I can cheerfully answer 'no' on the odd occasion that a cashier asks that question, then say 'but I'm sure it's Tesco/Asda policy to accept them anyway'. I would feel really uncomfortable trying this is Sainsburys!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Saved £20 on just 2 shops at ASDA already thanks to MSE.
Honestly don't know what I did before I found this site!0 -
My recent experience is that the shops are definitely tightening up, so use your vouchers where you can!
I haven't tried Sainsburys for a while, but had a lot of success there over the summer.
Tesco - well it really depends on the cashier! Had a lot of success with the beauty vouchers, and generally get anything between 10% and 80% of other shopping over the last month or so, totally depends on the cashier. Our main Tesco has an iron lady parading around checking all voucher sales and screaming 'only 10%' at the top of her voice. She wouldn't even let me use a £2.50 off a genuine £10 beauty voucher! Grrr. Avoid that store now.
Asda - normally get upto 50% off now, previously was higher. The manager says 10% only if he is there, but generally the shop assistants take off as many vouchers as you have.
Waitrose - the star of the show. Take as many manufacturers coupons as I have.

any wairose in south wales then.... might be worth a gander there then.... especially if i send an email about their coupon exceptance policy.....as then it might be owrth me going there once a month to do a big should with loads of coupons in my hand:DWork to live= not live to work0

Wish we had a Waitrose, nearest is Durham or Harrogate, But can save some coupons for our Christmas shop.
Shops are definately
tightening up, especially Tesco i only out through 3 @30p and needed approval on an £11.00 shop, makes you feel like a criminal.
Prefer Asda now as a little bit more relaxed at Self Scan.0 -
