Tesco have often have a large sign outside stating that they accept Sainsburys vouchers. My best ever trick was to use a Sainsburys "£5 off £50 spend" voucher plus a Tesco "£6 off £60 spend" all in one £60 transaction. An automatic £11 off plus some other coupons of approx. 50p's and £1's. A very sucessful shop! LoL

Hi, yes I have done this too, and even better, have also used a £10 off £50 Tesco clothing coupon at the same time. In my largest Tesco nearby, I can usually hand over the 'Tesco coupons' (e.g. till-spits and Tesco-logo coupons, for which you have to buy the product) all together - along with any Sainsburys £x off £xx one, and they scan these without querying whether or not they should be used together.

Then, as my local store takes 5 manufacturers' coupons off any shop, I will hand them over separately (but often try six, sometimes means I get one handed back but not always!).

BTW, I don't usually refer to my brood as 'little coupons' but it's an easy shorthand on here sometimes (e.g. I might refer to OH as Mr Coupon). You can relate it to your own username (e.g. COOLTRIKERCHICKLETS)....!:D

It has ended in St helens, well sort of.

Been using any vouchers i can get my hands on.

I had a load of £5 off ones. And sometimes i could get £15 off a £20 shop on self scan.

But over the past few days each time i've scanned a £5 voucher it has asked for approval.

Bummer hubby just come back from tesco he got £7 odd of stuff and scanned a £5 voucher and the girl swooped on him. Asking him where was the voucher from etc.

    Looks like it has ended.

Well it was good whilst it lasted.

Asda have just had self scaners in, but there are so many staff manning them it is unbelievable.

Also Asda self scanners let everyone know what your doing. They shout very loud.

saint-chris.....sorry didnt make my self clear... they cant claim back on r & r's......so they totally lose money.....as they refund you and you retain the product.....at least with the money off vouchers they can claim their money back and a handling fee...so when you use vouchers they gain....

Hello all - I've been following this thread with interest! I'm fairly newbie in all matters of money saving and can't believe what I've been missing out on! It was my boyfriend who told me about this website.

Anyway, I have begun collecting coupons and also sent for some of the 'quick reads' vouchers about a month ago - I got 200 and gave half to my OH. He uses them everyday at the ASDA supermarket near his work and they still work on the self-scan there. They also work for us at the TESCO on the way to the gym....however, went in and bought £2.88 shop today, put the £1 quick read voucher through and self-scan machine beeped at me and said (in a loud voice!)...'AUTHORIATION REQUIRED' :o (lots of staring!). The girl on the self-scan tills came over, opened the coupon tray, checked my voucher, and then just said ok (v.grumpy) and let me have it anyway!

It's quite nerve-wracking this voucher thing (my boyfriend is a bit cheekier than me!), but you're true it's addictive! I love saving money off my shopping!

I definitely think it works better that we live in a smallish city with lots of supermarkets really close to each other - within a 6 mile radius there are 2 tescos, 2 sainsburys, 2 morrisons, 2 asda and 1 waitrose.

Looking forward to hearing from felicity regarding her final figure! :D
