Cotton traders do casual tops etc for men in large sizes - I have bought my dad their polo shirts which go up to 5xl (long and short sleeved - this sort of thing http://www.cottontraders.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=7678) in the past, and they wash and wear well. I am thinking of buying him some trousers for christmas - looks like they go up to 52" waist.

They do womens stuff as well, but I don't know what it is like.

I love Cotton Traders stuff, it's really well made and good quality. There always used to be a shop in the Hatfield Galleria, don't know if it's still there.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • Thank you so much for this thread. Some great shops on their and as a seasoned JD Williams shopper its great to see more choice out their.

Anyone noticed with Daxon, that they cold call you? Called my mother last week and were quite strongly suggesting she buy clothing that they recommended over the phone. Took her a good 15 minutes to get rid of them. Put me off using them if they are using that tactic.

Didn't see these on the list, but for Lingerie, feminineplus dot com are quite good. Free Delivery. Brilliant for tights, stockings, need to expand other areas. Plenty of voucher codes for them if you do a search on google.

Anyway keep up the good work, I am off to look at some more of the sites.

  • I have been looking for plus size wedding dresses recently and am working to a tight budget. A friend's daughter highly recommended a site called Cute and Curvy Brides. She got flowergirl dresses and a plus size faux fur shrug which she was really pleased with.
I must say there are some nice things at reasonable prices. Has anyone bought anything from there? I'm not used to internet shopping but I think I could be tempted.
(I'm not even sure I'll get this on the forum, I suppose it gets easier knowing which buttons to press!! - third time lucky)

    Thank you!
I've added it to the list on the first posting.
  • Been looking for some cheap 5XL plain black polos shirts for work for a while and got some the other day off www.bigdudeclothing.co.uk - they were £8.99 which was good value. Not the greatest range of large mens clothing but cheap prices on what they do have though.

HI TYNE GIRL, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE BY TRYING, YOU CAN ALWAYS SEE IF THEY WILL LET YOU VISIT AND TRY SOME ON..MAKE A DAY OF IT. THERE WILL BE A 'CONTACT US' LINK ON THE SITE AND MAYBE A PHONE NUMBER, IF NOT AN EMAIL, AND ON THERE ASK FOR A CALL BACK AND TALK TO THEM. I THINK PEOPLE WHO SET UP PLUS SIZE SHOPS DO SO OUT OF FRUSTRATION ON A PERSONAL LEVEL, ON TOP OF THE GAP! SOMEONE THERE WILL HAVE BEEN WHERE YOU ARE X GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY :j

  • Next plus sizes.. This may be seen as good news or if like me.. Hard work. I would buy a size 24 top at most shops, online or highstreet. I have ordered 3 tops from next in a size 24 and they are big. I think they have been looking at the us and have sized the plus items on a different base model(womens)..which is great! Unless you need a 22 from this range. (i hope you are keeping up with me.) the size 22 is much smaller based on the 'normal' base model(woman with no hips or bust) the regular sizes are. So for those of you a size 24/26 will find next tops fit fantastically! Those like me are in a limbo regards this...merry christmas everyone xxxxx
