Whitney Way Thore, from Fat girl dancing on TLC, has posted an url to a clothing site (america) that she's released, with some profits going to National PCOS Foundation and the National Eating Disorders Association. American location presumably charity wise.
Anyhoo. They say they ship anywhere. It's down a lot currently, due to demand of it just opening. I posted it just for people to have a look, but overwhelmingly I am really disappointed in how thin most of the material is. Whitney is modeling it herself, but more often you can see bra, or leggings through the fabric.

I love the logo of it though; No BS (Body shame) so I am trying to find something to buy there, that's not see through virtually. No clue on shipping to UK as yet, still trying to load the site, but thought it might be look worthy for people on here, especially if you have followed her on her TV show.

  • I don't know if anyone here has tried zulily.co.uk. It is an American company that has a UK website and ships to the UK for one flat shipping rate no matter how much you order during the day.
They do a lot of American plus size clothes at discounted prices. There are loads of different brands, sizes and styles. I don't know if every single piece is good quality as it will vary but it should be of interest to some of the ladies here.
You have to sign up with your e-mail to view the deals but it is worth it.
  • Had a quick look with a 'borrowed' email (why should I give my email before even seeing what the website is about...), and didn't find anything much.

I wanted to put up that House of Fraser has larger sizes in. However they're mixed heritage. So basically Evans and a couple other brands.

Thus said,I bought one of the Eliza J dresses about 2 months ago, for £35ish. Mine was navy version of the Teal link posted below, but it was a lot cheaper than teals prices atm.
They still have a couple of colours left of the plain skirt/added collar, in size 28. This is a fab posh dress, so weddings, posh events etc. It's a really nice dress. Plain is:

and there's a 26 and 28 in Teal, collar less (which i preferred), with a pattern on, but that jumps to £52. http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Eliza+J+3/4+cuff+sleeve+dress+with+pleated+skirt/198933840,default,pd.html

Honestly, I wouldn't have bought at full price, but at the reduced prices, if you need a really special occasion dress, the patterned skirt one is ideal. I wore my dark blue version to a posh tango/dining experience, and to Gala balls, and it fitted right in there. I did sparkle mine up by sewing a few of the centres of the "flower" patterns with a couple of crystals, as I felt it lacked separation. It was all too samey, but I'd have lived with it, if I couldn't. I was quite doubtful on the waist arrangement, but it worked great for me. I'd say it is true to size, but there is obviously some give on the waist with it being banded and stretchy material.

They are lovely dresses for anyone needing one for a formal do, and a bargain.

I've found 'Yours' to be an excellent shop for plus size stuff. It includes fairly traditional items with a lot of very current styles, including some gorgeous party dressed which won't bankrupt you. And their underwear!!!! *swoons* We have a local shop, so I've been able to pop in and check out what they have and it's GORGEOUS! Bra sizes past 46 G, and in sexy styles, often with matching undies.
They have a 10% off on your first order too.
But my favourite has to be the US firm 'Torrid' ~ VERY quirky, very young at heart, and some of the most lovely things I've come across online. The postage to the UK can be hefty, but I think it's worth it if you want something unique.
Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us

Just had a nose at the dotty p's range. A large amount of it is quite samey, same styles, same colours, kinda drab colourings on a lot of them also. But there are a couple of nice pieces, dresses seem quite short though. Model is showing around 5 foot 9 inches, which is about an inch taller than me. Shame, as I'd be tempted with the butterfly curve lace dress, just seems really short, so I'd have to under skirt/dress/sew on an extra layer of lace to feel more comfortable.

If anyone buys anything can they post here about ease of return and sizing/fit. States they can't be returned to store which just puts me right off with the hassle of having to send back via post office.

Prices seem a bit skewed as well. Bog standard jeggings/leggings at the same prices as a dress.

TBH I stopped buying from Yours because the quality if often very poor, even worse than Evans. Occasionally I got some good stuff, like one of my favourite tops. I think they do free returns now, so worth trying.
Never tried Torrid, but heard good things about it, now you made want to take a look again....

Just bought some stuff from Taking Shape, great quality, long lasting, and all on sale....if their website wasn't so awkward to use, and their sizing all over the place, I'd be spending a lot more money with them!

I wish Taking Shape still did the activewear range. They have only had a few bits for months now and looks like they are not planning on replacing it. Can't find the equivalent anywhere else.
