I know there was a couple of posts on here about activewear/gym clothes but some of the links were out of date.
I recently bought some tops from Taking Shape and they are fab. Great length and not too fitted or clingy. There are tops some in the sale for £9 and I got 2 full price with 25% off and used a code for 20% off when I signed up for the newsletter. I used to get my tops from Sainsburys but they changed their sizing and the tops are now very small .
Hope this helps someone.

Have to second the Taking Shape activewear. I have the black and pink polo shirt style tops and the black and grey cropped bottoms and I absolutely live in them. They are so comfy, beautifully cut and wash lovely. I got mine in the sale but I wear the extra small in there which I haven't managed to get since striking lucky with those*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

My OH has £250 ish burning a hole in his pocket to buy a new lightweight smart casual jacket and also maybe a sweater or sweatshirt. (By this he means not a zipped front or windcheater but a conventional cut men's jacket, in a lightweight fabric with maybe with a slightly different cut or fabric to the mainstream.)
So today we went into Richmond Surrey to see what was available. We returned empty handed - not due to price but size. None of the fashionable shops we visited catered for anything more than a small-medium sized man.
OH is not supersized. He is 6 ft and weighs around 14 1/2 stone. His chest is around 44ins and waist 36ins and he has broad shoulders so prefers to wear XXL which gives a bit of space to breathe.
Most men's ranges only went up to XL (42-44ins chest) and a narrow fitting XL at that. In House of Fraser the sweaters only went up to 42-3". Ditto Lewin and Ted Baker. In Ted Baker their sized 6 jacket, supposedly his size was in practice far too small. In Burtons the only suitable jacket in a 46" chest was "slimfit" and seemed designed for a 28" waist. There was also very little choice in the way of light weight stylish summer jackets, most of the stuff was windcheaters but he needs to be a but more formal for work while not needing to wear a suit. He started to feel like the Incredible Hulk after a while.
In the end he found something in M & S where they did stock XXL which fitted fine but he had actually wanted something less mainstream for once. Is it because everything is made in the Far East that the sizes are all so narrow? And why not cater for larger men than XL which is not really that large?. (He is neither tall enough or fat enough to fit the High and Mighty Profile). Seems like a missed opportunity here.0 -

Most shops in my opinion do XXL as thats what size my hubby is although to be honest I usually shop for him online.

My husband buys from Joe Brown's. They seem to do a range of sizes. Hope he finds something.

Don't forget to try and go through TopCashback/Quidco etc. as I am sure I have used one of them before when buying from there.0 -

They do actually know their stuff if you can get to the shop and will make alterations and send it on to you if you are only there for the day.
I don't think a few alterations or postage are prohibitive on your budget and if your spending enough you'd be able to negotiate that thrown in.
Worth it for the advice, bespoke tailoring if you are doing a big shop or have a reasonable budget IMO.
Also might be worth a trip in the sales.0 -
We tried Debenhams. They had no smart casual jackets apart from the windcheater, zipped style, nothing suitable for work. We tried Ted Bakers which has several casual smart jackets and their size 6 which should fit him, was too small. Ditto Burtons. He is not tall enough or fat enough for High and Mighty. As previously, he is 6 foot, 44ish chest and 36ish waist. We do not consider that to be outsize for a British male.
Bit surprised about House of Fraser comments. They did not have any lightweight smart causal jackets either and when we went in there couple of months back to buy him a woollen sweater they only had two colours in XXL and the assistant said it was not normally a size they stocked.0 -

I don't want to be rude, but you seem to be surprised that you are not getting the information you need from us on this thread.
I think if you open a new thread you will be more likely to get the information you need, here's is mainly plus size women reading this, and a few 'outsized men' so really not your target audience0 -
Hello
I am looking for advice for clothing for my DIL, who is too scared to enter the forums. She is looking for tops, size 26/28 that have a bit of a length to them, to cover her bottom/tummy areas. She is a bit disheartened with Evans and their quality and has tried Yours last year but also found them poor quality, has this changed at all?
I'm typing as she talks to me so please bear with me, she is also looking for leggins that are like jeans, has some in size 22 but they are falling down and going baggy, they are from M&S.
Any advice would be most appreciated, thank you.0 -
Lots of people seem to rate the TU (Sainsbury's) leggings, so it may be worth having a look there. I noticed that Tesco have quite a lot of jeggings, but since I don't wear them, I really can't comment too much on quality/wear
I'm sure someone else will be along shortly with other suggestions
Although I'd agree with you re: Evans - they really seem to have gone downhill over the last few years
I've noticed on the Aldi website that they're having some larger sized stuff in on Thursday 8th May including tops, leggings, shorty pjs, bras, full briefs (up to size 30!?) and wider fit loafers. https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thursday-8th-may/ (scroll down to see what they've got). (They seem to be playing "catch-up" with Lidl? )
