Further to my recent post re Lane Bryant now offering International shipping.
I've just ordered two pairs of summery floral jeans from clearance. (There's a BOGOF offer online today, code displayed on the site). The prices are displayed in Sterling. The shipping worked out at £17 by DHL, plus £7 odd in duties, but the price you pay at checkout is guaranteed to be the final price - no further taxes, handling etc.
I can only get the International site to work in Internet Explorer, which is a nuisance. Looking forward to getting some nice jeans that fit though!

Hi All, new to this thread so haven't read back yet, fed up as Im holiday shopping which always makes me depressed :-(

Am I the only one who thinks M&S are very stingy? Just bought a lovely top in the outlet for £13.50 size 24, its not too tight but it certainly looks like it fits were it touches, fuming as an Asda 24 is fine.

Can't really comment on their clothes clothes, as I've never seen anything about 20+ in store/online. BUT their knickers are ridiculously big. idk if it's a style of the elderly person that seems to like to shop there, but baggy pants are not kewl. I end up going 2-3 sizes smaller and still have room to spare on their knickers packs, which aside the blergh colours/patterns are the best I've bought in a long time.

I actually dyed the last white lot to give me a nicer colour!

regarding mens http://www.sizedwell.co.uk/store/index.asp is the place I got my combats from, several pages back of which I was a bit concerned about ordering from an unknown site. However this site was covered in one of the Big Body Squad (Ch.5) recently. (and I had no issues with my combats, in fact best pair i've bought in a long long long time, and not badly priced either)

My mother shops there a lot and has been moaning recently that their sizing is shot. In one range things are too tight, in other ranges they are loose.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

    Hello Lifeforms,
If you are looking for style ideas, you should check out the plus sized bloggers. Some have their own websites and some just use Utube, some examples are :Marie Claires plus sized fashion bloggers on Utube Nicollete Mason - also Marcie Guevara also Marie Denee. There are also channels like Daily Mix which are all about hair, makeup and fashion for all sizes. Just google them or type into Utube and you will find loads of ideas for a variety of sizes and ages. The Marie Claire bloggers also tell you of US stores that ship to the UK.
Apologies if you are already aware of all this I just thought it would be a change from the usual high St stuff.

Hey Swallow! I hadn't actually seen anything of that, but going through the Marie Claires one I came across http://!!!!yeahfathaircuts.tumblr.com/ which basically blew my mind over haircuts. So I found a picture I quite liked, took it up to the student hairdressers, and said whatever happened, I didn't want to leave with the obligatory fat persons bob :D They fitted me in right then, so whilst I expected a hair cut another day, I got a lovely surprise to have it done there and then!

We compromised, as the photo haircut was extra special with a fair bit of maintenance work, and I don't do that, so I now have an asymmetrical hair cut. Kept my safety fringe, but that's now asymmetrical too, and moved my parting to the side, which now covers my "baldish" spot where I had head surgery done. Hadn't even thought about that, so more than happy with that :D I really love it, but it's very different, and I'm not even going to say it'd suit a fat persons face in the world of hairdressing standards. But I don't care, I love it! Length wise, longest side is just below the ear (to allow the weird skin joined hair there to either go front or behind ear naturally) then shortest side is on line with top of ear.

Walked out and went and bought a box of dye right away, because of it being short one side, I had natural colour there, then the longest side was two tone with old colour growing out. So now it's Plum, not straight, and totally nothing like anyone has ever seen on me before :D :rotfl: (very slightly tempted to go throw in blue highlights on top, chunky strips)

And omg my head felt so light! as all the hair was being chopped off, i was watching the new rugrat being created on the floor. You could've made a wig out of it all. So so impressed and it cost me £15 (inc a tip!) I don't even miss it!

What was removed from the url above was that F word.

My new jeans were delivered this morning, which I think is pretty flippin' amazing! 4 days? I have many a time waited longer than that for things from this country.
They are lovely, and fit really well, so I am a very happy bunny :j

I really hate the New Look Inspire range. It's like they've read about everything that doesn't suit larger people and then gone ahead and built a range around it (just like Evans lol). And it's expensive for what it is - cheap (usually snagged) chiffon tops and scruffy looking, baggy t-shirts that don't wash well. And practically everything is sleeveless!!!

What also annoys me is that we have a massive New Look where I live, but they've recently halved the size of the Inspire range and moved it right to the back of the store in a really dingy corner - it's like they're hiding the fat girl clothes in shame! I know that plus-size ranges aren't glamorous, but honestly - New Look ain't no Abercrombie ;)

And I hate New Look generally as an assistant once accused me of taking my own felt-tip and adding a sale price to something

Sorry, rant over ... but it's just so frustrating that the two main places to get plus-size clothing on the high-street (New Look and Evans) are just so god-awful.

Yeahh New Look is a bit hit & miss. They sometimes have a gem though. I picked up a black dress yesterday, very light & silky but not shiny with a cut out pattern on the sleeves... work appropriate and stylish for £16.99. I probably only find something that I like bi-annually though!
