You need to make sure you have things planned for when the children are away - so if he does this, making alternative arrangements becomes HIS problem. Don't let him take you for granted, or assume that he can just see the kids when he feels like it - it's not fair on them if he lets them down.
Happy Birthday SarahShattered! It sounds like you had a tough time at work, but at the same time, it sounds like the tough stuff is what makes it so rewarding for you. I'm glad your boss is able to see how good you are!
I'm not really helping my jet lag by having had a lie-in this morningI really couldn't be bothered to get up, so I stayed in bed and read my book. I'm going to go off to the farm shop now (with my cheque book, as I got up too late to get cash) and then into town to get some odds and ends and some cash. I definitely need a walk, as I haven't had any exercise since I got off the plane which is very bad, so I'll walk to the shop for yogurt etc. later. If I wake up on time I might just drag myself into the gym for pilates tomorrow morning!
Have a lovely weekend!!0 -
I started late so carried on late. In my HHC I:
cleared the airer of clothes
re-hung it with wet towels
put 2 bags of stuff away
hoovered kitchen floor, landing, hallway, bathroom, bedroom
cleared out the fridge.
rehomed some books from by my bed to the shelf
I'm running quite short of time now and still need to have a shower before I leave in about 25 mins so will limit myself to hoovering the lounge. After that it's only really wiping round that's a priority and I can do that after my haircut (or tomorrow). I'm doubtful I'll get stars this week but the place will look presentable and I'd rather have my rest at the moment! I should also have time to put the washing away before I go out.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Wiped down and decanted some of the bottle from the bottle cupboard.
Wiped down the cooker.
Wiped down the cupboards.
Wiped down some tiles.
Worked out how to use the rotissiere function on our cooker so think we'll have that for tea tonight.:D

Mudbath so sorry to hear your DS is still so ill, am thinking of you all and hope you are ok and that he is on the mend soon xx
Greenbee, I’m so not impressed by your boss, what an idiot. Leaving you like that in a strange city with no money is not a good thing to do. I’m not surprised you lost respect for him. Glad you are ok now and that you got home
Welcome to all newbies/returners
Jill, it’s so nice to see you back!
LG, not surprised you are fed up with waiting to hear about redundancy, it must be awful to be in limbo like that
Diva, sorry to hear about your friend’s dad

RANT ALERT our out of hours doctor, which is twenty miles away, and basically the only place we ever go, since our surgery is not open before 9 or after 5.30, cannot connect to the computer to get patient records!!!!
This means that people who are depressed, or confused, or painkiller addicted, or in the early stages of dementia, are relied upon to recall what drugs they are taking, with no checks. INSANITY. RANT OVER
Spent the early hours there with DD1, still terrible with her asthma.
Rest of day trying to recover from week of DD2 screaming all evening and DD1 coughing all night.
Still...going to see the most fabby jazz singer tonight.
