    Morning All.

Happy Birthday Sarah. Great news on your job and your boss giving you a thumbs up. I bet it made you feel good.

THinking of you Toots and LL.

    Mudbath and DS hugs too.

Haven't read all the thread but am thinking of you all.

Well DS and DD should have been at Xh but he said he couldn't look after them as his girlfriend's dad is very ill. Hmm I thought that his children should have been his first priority but...

:bdaycake: Happy birthday sarah! Have a lovely day.

Dull and grey here. I'm trying to motivate OH to come to the bathroom place with me, and talk about the quote we had for the cloakroom - I want to get it down a bit so that we can afford to do the bathroom as well. No, OH doesn't know about the bathroom - yet :D

DS2 has a friend sleeping over - they're currently wrecking the kitchen making eggy bread. They're going to learn all about washing up next. They're 15 by the way not 5...

I looked properly at Friday's list and reckon I can get that done today - so I may even get five stars! I usually miss out because the kids don't do their rooms when they should.

    Must go do some planning...

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 glasses of wine theory...

A professor stood before his philosophy class with some items on his desk in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'YES.'

The professor then produced two glasses of wine from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things; your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions; things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else; the small stuff.

If you put the sand into the jar first', he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the good things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. Do one more run down the ski slope. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first; the things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the wine represented.

The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of glasses of wine with a friend.'

    Morning all

I have to really fly here today. It needs a touch of flydust to make the place sparkle again!

First things first I need to get dressed and we're going to the tip first with our old microwave and some of in laws stuff, then out for lunch too. But I will be up for some HHCs later as the whole place needs a going over!

    Happy birthday sarahshattered

Morning (not very often I say that :D)

Had a lie in this morning and have been up and about pottering.

Breakfasted and showered but not not dried/dressed yet.

Have already got 1 load of washing on line (but I think I will need to rescue it in a min as time i've been in the shower it now looks like rain) another load is in the machine.

Anw's mum - I love the 2 glasses of wine thing

Happy Birthday SarahS - hope you have a good day. Would love to know more about your work as it sounds like the sort of thing I'd love to do, I want to do something that will make a difference to someone and havent a clue where to start. If you have time to PM me I would love to hear about how you got into it.

Soappie - glad they're all exchanged now ewven if it does mean getting there the long way round!

Right better go and dry the hair before I look like a scarecrow

    See ya's later

  • Hello playmates, I’m back! A bit earlier than planned – we decided to come back yesterday evening as DH has a cold and the roads would be clear so we could get home quicker and have a restful day today, instead of coming home today. Got home at about 11pm last night. Going to have a nice day unpacking, and watching all the X-Factors that we missed while away! Got to get the place ready for a flat inspection on Monday too. It's mostly quite good in here - it was so nice walking in to a clean and tidy home last night!

Have only read this page – will try to catch up a bit more later

How is everyone? What’s been happening while I was gone?

Hello Toots and Lady Liberty, how are you?

Soappie, sounds like your DS and DIL are moving today?

    Mudbath, how is your son?

Zoe how are things with you?

    Elly, how is your DD?

    Poohbear, how is your DH?

Sarah, sorry to hear you had such a stressful day at work the other day. The fact that you care so much can only make you better at your job, it will really help the young people to have a listening ear and someone who wants to help them giving them good advice. Glad your boss gave you some good feedback, that shows you are doing a good job!

This is another poem that I love:

    A Live Well Lived

Some people just can't help making
    A difference in our lives.
By simply being who they are,
They make the world a little brighter,
    A little warmer,
    A little gentler,
And when they're gone we realise
How lucky we are to have known them.

I think this is probably how most flyladies feel about toots when she disappears off to hospital... :o

Of course I am not so bad - in fact I am blo0dy lovely!! giggle.gif

The funeral went well although my friends mum looked completely wiped out. I was glad to be there for my friend and my godson. The sun shone all day which was lovely.

glad the funeral went ok :A

I am off to work today, but I will be flying when I get back. I WILL:D
