Afternoon all, firstly a big thank you for all the Birthday wishes, it is much appreciated x x x x x

Have been to see to the horse this morning so far with the kids and that is it so off for a mega clean up and tidy session.

Will have a quick catch up with the thread first though so if anyone fancies joining me for a HHC from 12.30 -1.00 then feel free. I am emptying the medicine cabinet, returning the stuff no longer needed and making it all lovely again!

    Hope everyone is well x x x x

  • 1st coat of painting around french doors and 2 half walls painted plus some cutting in done - I always seem to end up wearing the paint!!! (I've always been an untidy worker. DH is slinging a 4th coat on the kitchen ceiling - fingers crossed but I think we've finally got rid of the water marks - yippee!!

DH's also going to put together my butchers block while I'm at work so I might actually have somewhere to put the microwave when I get home.
    I'd rather be watching CSI!

AnWs Mum - love that - I need reminding of those golf balls sometimes as I do tend to get bogged down with the graqins of sand - I'm gonna print it and stick it up in the Kitchen

Sarahshattered - Happy Birthday, hope you have a lovely day

Rosepink - nice to see you back, hope you had a nice time

Biker man has gone on the Ride to the Wall again this year, I waved him off with approx. 350 to 400 Harley Davidson HOG guys and gals, plus one 6 year old girl who was riding pillion on her father's bike, along with a police escort onto the road at 8.15am this morning from Jack's Cafe on the A5, it was a slight to behold.

I've put away dry washing and washing up and hung out wet washing that I'd started when I got up. I've also moved everything that was being stored into the bath onto the bed so we can have baths soon. DH is still in bed but is watching a footie programme.
I've also moved bags into appropriate places for them to be unpacked, altho I still need to finish unpacking the car.

I was thinking of you all while I was away, as I dyed the bath where we were red, and had to spend the last week of the hol scrubbing it! I learned some new things while away:
1.do not dye your hair in a holiday cottage bathroom
2.do not have a bath and rest your head on the bath while the colour is setting in your hair as you leave a big head shaped stain on the bath!

I now have lovely red hair which I've fancied doing for ages, but i did have visions of having to buy the owners of the cottage a new bath! We got some tub scrub stuff with crushed marble in it which took the stain off quite well after several (three times a day for a week) applications. I actually sprained my wrist, but it's better now! Anyhoo, lesson learned! It was quite funny really, I was lying in the bath and didn't realise that the dye was running down my neck and DH came in, not knowing I'd dyed my hair, and I must have looked like I'd got a massive head injury and was bleeding profusely and the bath was filling up with blood as he seemed quite shocked! LOL!

    Hello all,

day so far not quite as planned. Ended up hanging around at the in laws after the tip and then all went out for lunch. I've therefore not done the supermarket shopping as I was driving FIL. I've managed to book a hair appointment for this aft at 3.30pm (new salon, eek!) so will do an hour's flying then have a shower and get changed so that once hair is done I'm set for going out tonight.

Before we went to the tip I attacked the bathroom and washed all the towels, so some crossing off can be done.

    HHC 2-2.30?

Glad you had a nice time Rose, even if you did have to spend quite a lot of the time having to scrub the bath!!!!! Sounds like something I would do.

Anyway, no ironing has been done here and I 'm absolutely shattered. We will be wearing creased clothes on hols at this rate!!!!!
Will have 5 to let my lunch settle and will crack on then....
