I did notice a couple of things last night that seemed to make a difference to the way the site loaded.

When I first started the thread, the site was very slow, I noticed there were approx 2750 people online.

A bit later, I was getting lots of database page messages, I noticed there were over 3300 people online.

When djohn posted above, I also noticed an improvement. I noticed then that there were under 2500 people online.

This morning I've had the database page already, and the site isn't as fast as it could be. I noticed there were over 3200 people online.

Could it be that the site is becoming a victim of its own success again, and is struggling for bandwidth with so many people viewing the site?

Slow again for me and I'm also getting the 'hanging page' that I used to get before the problems were sorted out previously......i.e the top bar loads slowly then that's it for ages until the rest of the page follows.

This is exactly what is happening to me, may have to do some house work instead of chatting!
