I know they have a smaller car boot at my old school, Royds, in Rothwell/Oulton if that's near you. They only have 3/4 a year, one weekend a month in April, May, June and possibly July. I think the April one was last weekend, it's usually round about the 25th of the month. Can't remember if it's the Sat or Sun though. I live in Lincoln now, but my mum lives nearby so I see the signs up when I visit!

  • Does anyone know where the best place to look for jumble sales adverts in and around Edinburgh. Found a couple on gumtree.
    Thanks in advance

Car boots are rarely advertised in our local papers, I find. I use http://www.carbootjunction.com/ to find new ones but my two favourites are the big one near Leeds/Bradford airport (6am Sunday on Greenacres Farm) and the afternoon one in Otley (12-4pm Sunday at Wharfdale Farmers Mart).

    Today's chazza shop finds......:j

Pair of as-new bathroom type curtains? 50p! Lovely 2 tone raspberry colour with wave pattern. Seem to have some sort of rubbery backing so am assuming they are for a bathroom??

Lovely pale wood box, just the right size to keep pens, pencils etc in. 50p again. Beautifully made but had a rather twee flowery pattern painted on the front. Bit of sandpaper and elbow grease soon had it sorted! :p
  • On sunday I dragged my DH to the car boot sale as I am looking for a few particular books but he reluctantly agreed...

Anyway, walking around he says 'omg, I can't believe it.. look over there' and there were some 1998 adidas predator accelerator football boots that sell between £80-300 on ebay and the guy only wanted a £1 for them, woo hoo!!

Now he doesn't know whether to sell them or keep them?! Oh well, at least he's keen to come again haha xx:j

What a bargain, we brought our daughter the same bed off of e-bay for 50.00 but we had to buy a mattress.

I didn't buy much at the CB this week, just some clothes for the dd's (zara and GAP) for 3.50 (15 items).

I still cant believe it! I was watching one on ebay already and it ended today for £76 without mattress! Its a fab bed and well worth what they go for on ebay thats why I am soooooo shocked they only wanted £30 for it! I keep checking it over in case there is something wrong with it!! :rotfl:

Good luck everyone and Thank you to all posters xx

Yesterday's trawl of the charity shops unearthed:

Gilded gold mirror with rose detail at the top, £4.99
Leather Nine West Saddle Bag, £6.99
    Vintage floral tea dress, £3.99
2 Johnny Loves Rosie chiffon floral clutch bags, 99p each BNWT
    Glass cake stand, £1.49
    MNG olive laddered cardigan, £1.99
Principles huge cream wool shawl, £3.99
Tiny vintage tan leather satchel, £1.49

Quite a haul! Most of it's for eBay... I'm gonna keep the mirror, cake stand, cardigan and shawl for me though! :)
