I have found an AMAZING shop near me! They buy all of the clothes that are given to the recycling centre, and they then clean these and sell them in their shop. The shop has a set up similar to a charity shop, however everything they sell is a decent make - from Marks and Spencer to Ralph Lauren, Uggs, D & G etc. It is crazy to think that people give these things to recycling centres!! Some even still have the tags on.

A few things I have bought recently are:

BNWT Per Una dress - £7
    BNWT Joules cardigan - £3
Vintage Ralph Lauren Rose Print jumper - £5
Ted Baker silk top - £4
    etc etc

    Brill place!

Ah we have a lady at my regular car booting haunt who does that, buys from the recycling centre and sells on. She often has lots of designer and posh shop stuff, and has new stuff every week - its fab.

I picked up my boyfriend an as new pair or D&G jeans a couple of weeks ago, along with 6 other items, for £12 in all. He was dead chuffed and just had to show them off to everyone. He told his friends I paid £70 for them lol!

I find it amazing that people just stick that sort of stuff in the reclying bin. If I don't Ebay my old clothes I tend to give the decent stuff to CS shops and only the crap (out of shape, worn out) stuff to the reclying bins as assume it'll go to the rag man.

If you knew how to get first dibs on the recycling bins it could be a very profitable business even if you just sold the stuff on Ebay!

As for the LV bag, I think it looks cheap and nasty too. I think there are so many fakes about it makes the real deal look tacky. Still, I'd buy it for 50p!!!
    2009 Wins = £833
    2010 Wins = £6,597
    2011 Wins = £7,083

    £2,012 in 2012 = £450/£2,012
    20 in 2012 = 4/20

Well done on your bargains, gang!

No booting for me today as it was raining.

GeorgeBee - some charity shops get money for rags. Ask around your local shops before you consider binning anything you consider too tatty for resale.

Siren13577 - I get lots of Christmas pressies from Charity shops. The trouble is some of the stuff's so good my friends feel guilty thinking I've paid a fortune (and I thought they knew me!) and I get amazing presents in return!

Just got one thing from the hospice chazza shop today. I thought it was a waist slip/petticoat...black, Dolce & Gabbana (do they do underwear??). Beautiful condition....price £1.50. It's made of stretchy crepe with stretchy lace at the hem. Looked at the label, as I always like to give things a really good wash before wearing, and it says. 'No wash in water, No bleach, Cool iron, Dry Cleaning'. Now I'm wondering if it is meant to be worn as a skirt?? Dare I risk washing it...handwash maybe? Oh, the label also says 100% Nylon. It will be really nice as a petticoat....but not if it has to be dry cleaned all the time :p

Oh, good find! I've seen D&G bras in the past so, yes, it probably is underwear. I'd hand wash it in a bit of mild shampoo and drip-dry it over the bath. Being nylon it's probably a precaution so it doesn't snag in the machine. xx

I bought this vintage bag in a CS today £1.50 - Does anyone know what the metal logo/badge is? I have seen it before, but unsure what it is!

I also bought a M & S leather messenger bag £2.50, very pleased with it as the one I already have is a little too big now I no longer need to carry nappies/bottles/teethers everywhere I go lol !

I had the exact same bag! I bought it from a chazza shop in the summer and only used it a couple of times so flogged it on. It's by Manfield, a high street brand popular in the 1980's. I think it eventually got absorbed into Dolcis. xxx

Yay...the handwash was a complete success!!! Makes me sooooo mad when labels say 'dry clean only' and it's not true

Friday's bargain was a pair of navy, BNWT, Betty Jackson sailor-type trousers with a silver buckle at the waist and wide legs for £5 from the chazza shop. Lovely quality fabric and really well made. Even had the special BJ 'returns seal' thingy intact. I don't usually pay that much but I just loved 'em and they fit perfectly. Also got a narrow black patent leather belt for 25p.

(Oh dear, I seem to be turning into a label junkie!!!! :o)
