Can you imagine finding that in your local charity shop?!?!

Just imagine if they didn't realise the value and just popped it in the 50p bargin bin!!!

My brother lives in Bedford, we grew up near there, and there are loads of charity shops. He's got a hoard of decent vinyl he picked up all over town, so it might be a good little hotspot by the looks of it.

Very generous of the lady but am I alone in finding it ugly? My friend had an identical one had made for her when she visited China, the leather is fabulous quality and it's even got the dust bag and authentic serial code (she paid £15) - she kindly offered it me but I said no.

I've been charity shopping today, I'd dropped off two bin bags stuffed with clothes, books, kitchenware and household goodies earlier so I had room...honest!

I managed to get a cute vintage waistcoat, a Givenchy wallet, a pair of jade Dent's leather gloves still in their cellophane wrapper, a new Primarni blusher, a Best of Northern Soul CD ('cos I love the song "The Snake"), The Foals "Antidotes" CD (still sealed), a "Zen Dog" leather passport cover, a reversible trapper's hat and a skull bandana (for fancy dress) and all for less than £15.

Not keen on them either Goanmad, although they are expensive I find the design quite tacky. Each to their own though, I'm sure a lot of people would hate my lovely vintage bags too :)

Primark blusher is good - I use that. Normally I use clinique and am finding the Primark one very good in comparrison
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
  • Don't like the look of the LV bags either goanmad.. like JesaRose, I think there's a certain level of tackiness about them that's really offputting.

I think things like this (clicky) might just have a little something to do with it lol..

Had a jaunt out this morning to Tumbletots with the small one and had a wee look in the charity shops as we passed. Not much of a bargain at all but picked up a handmade glass vase for £4. Just loved the look of it. Sticker on it says LSA international.. means nothing to me lol.. Just need to work out where it's going to go now!

Phew, glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like the bag!

JesaRose, funny you should mention the Clinique blusher. I adored "Rosy Blush" and wore it for years, I was devastated when they discontinued it. The revamped version is a little too brown. The Primark blusher is much prettier (and the quality isn't bad either).

It's a shame about the LV brand. That design has gone the same way as Burberry check - synonymous with chavs! Although whereas the Burberry check is rather classic, that hideous white and neon pattern doesn't really cut the mustard for me.

Although if I spotted it in a charity shop for 50p I'd snap it right up!

Ohhhh I got lucky today :D!

A few bargains from CS including a lovely man's cromby-style coat (Bond Clothes, tailored in Rochester) for £8.99, a set of Drambui (sp?) glasses (probably Ebay them) for £1 and a lovely dress by Orna Farho of Paris for £10 .......... which still has the original tags on ............. which is 100% silk ........... which was £145 originally    :j :j .

Now ...... I might just have to Ebay this lol but it is rather lovely. I'm just off to take DDs boyfriend home and then I'll pop back on and upload a piccy for you all.

Hope everyone else has managed to get some nice things

  • I have found an AMAZING shop near me! They buy all of the clothes that are given to the recycling centre, and they then clean these and sell them in their shop. The shop has a set up similar to a charity shop, however everything they sell is a decent make - from Marks and Spencer to Ralph Lauren, Uggs, D & G etc. It is crazy to think that people give these things to recycling centres!! Some even still have the tags on.

A few things I have bought recently are:

BNWT Per Una dress - £7
    BNWT Joules cardigan - £3
Vintage Ralph Lauren Rose Print jumper - £5
Ted Baker silk top - £4
    etc etc

    Brill place!

I agree that the handbag is tacky and vulgar and anyone would probably expect it to be a fake too, but those LV Bin Bags... :rotfl: Brilliant!!!
  • I'm happy for the charity shop but think the bag is very ugly. I love my local charity shops and have picked up some real bargains, I love reading and one of the local store has 3 books for £1, toys are great for my children and my most recent great buy was a brand new M&S Per Una bag complete with tags and internal packing for £3.99 so it's part of my sister's christmas pressie.

I wish I had a car to get to some of the fab car booties near me but maybe I'll get there in the new year. Happy browsing and car booting!
