I got a 6-9 month baby dress today (adams brand) for £1.25 its more than I normally pay (lol) BUT this dress is the same one that my friend had her twins christened n a few years ago and I always loved it - it is in mint condition so definitely worth it.

LOVE the homepride men and the beautiful cake stand - as per normal lots of bargains in the above posts that I wish I had found - love this thread.
Debt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)
  • Very jealous of all your finds (stormchaos - I LOVE that cake stand!). I haven't been near a car boot or jumble sale in weeks as we are utterly skint (to the point of scraping up the 10p's out of the coin jar to buy food) and have another massively expensive month coming up.:(

Keep the posts coming, at least I can admire all your bargains, even if I can't afford go off and find my own!

  • Car boot sales are still being rained off here .... the weather was so bad last night that one of the local ones didn't charge for anyone brave enough to turn up!

I've had a couple of good CS finds, though - a 1980s Jobis shirtwaist dress in a lovely dark cream (and very wearable if I take out the humungeous shoulder pads!) for £5 - with the original swing ticket ( back then it was on sale for £229!)

Best of the lot was a ring in a CS last Saturday - the box was marked 9ct - £5 - it's an eternity ring with tiny diamonds and sapphires (although it was so dirty you could have taken it as just the gold band with a bit of fancy work round the front.) It's a decent weight, as well.... and the box is from an expensive local jeweller (some other CS would have charged £1 - 2 for the box itself, never mind the ring!)

2 weeks ago went with a friend to carboot. Promised myself I wouldnt look. Brand new in box Bianca nude Lamboutins. Still with the 120.00 price ticket on. Thought Ill just have a look at them, they were a size 4. Lady was asking 45.00 for them. Offered her 40.00 I looooove them. My friend got two beautiful next clutch bags one black satin with chain, and the other pink satin for 1.50 the two, they look as if they were never used

Our carboots have been rained off lately and am getting withdrawal symptoms but the sun is shining this morning so should be a good one, had a trawl around the CS on Friday, quite a few had offers on £1 for clothing so managed to pick up:

    Mango top
F&F croppped black jacket (preparing my winter wardrobe)
Paul Frank pyjama vest top ( to go with my PF pj bottoms)
    River Island jeans
    Oasis black cap sleeved top
    F&F red and white bikini

Better go and wake DS up and see if they want to go to the car boots!!!!!!
