instead of all the moaning, why don't you try and put your orders in early - all my orders went in before 11PM Monday, and they've all been dispatched...

I’ve just phoned CS, the person I spoke to was lovely even though she couldn’t tell me how much, if any, of my order would arrive.

As usual it depends on how much stock is left when they ‘pick’ my order. “There isn’t always as much stock left as we think.” I explained I didn’t want to pay £3.50 for delivery if my order total drops below £30 because of out of stock items (especially if the only thing still in stock is the £1 birthday card!). Unfortunately they can’t do anything about that until the order is despatched and I then have to ring again and ask for a refund. I’ve had mixed result in the past with this … a refund, credit on my account and a flat refusal!

I always order sale items in the hope (rather than expect) to receive them. The reason I’m slightly disappointed this time is that I’d ordered some pieces of jewellery for my nieces for Xmas. Guess I’ll have to hit the shops instead

Perhaps a little more sympathy would be appropriate, m&s are aware of their probelms with online availability and it is frustrating for people not able to sit by their computers just waiting for the sale to come online. Perphaps with you advising everyone to get in early they might get in before you next time and you will be the one left disappointed.

Yes - wait and see fingers crossed!

My first order placed Monday is due next Monday and I have a separate order of a coat due on Saturday by nominated delivery so hoping I get some of the items.

I've been lucky in the past with M&S so can't help feeling that luck's due to run out - nevermind not the end of my world - will just go and buy elsewhere

When ordering from M&S online sale you have to aim for a sense of Zen calm. Things arrive, or they don't. After avoiding them for ages, I did order at 10pm the first evening, in twos for twins. The order still shows as 'to be despatched' and I guess I'll get some things in odd ones and learn my lesson again. Or.....it will all be delivered without a problem.

Edited to add:

If I do get just odd items I shall of course forget my lessons in calmness, and stomp about in a pointless temper for 10 minutes.

Does anyone know if order's are 'picked' in the order they are received or is it done by when they are due to be delivered?

i.e. would an order placed yesterday by nominated delivery for an item get picked before an order placed for the same item on standard delivery a couple of days earlier?

After years of ordering from them I can say with some authority that I definitely don't know. I'm not sure they do, either.

I hope all mine arrive but not arriving till 14th I could not get nominated day to work but then seen on earlier post where I went wrong.
But I have always been lucky with my M&S deleveries......fingers crossed
