Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 4th October

Well I've been really busy at work and haven't had much social life this week which has helped! The thing that makes the biggest difference to me is not buying lunch at work. Most days this week I took a packed lunch but I also now have a stash of cup soups and cup pasta in my desk that I can make on the days I don't manage to make anything at home.
Also I think its thinking of alternatives - a friend wanted to go to the pub for a meal on Wednesday but instead I suggested she came to mine and I made us veggie tacos (which I had all the food in for anyway) probably saved me around £15 compared to going out.
It is a nice feeling though - I nearly bought some sweets whilst I was getting petrol yesterday but then remembered the challenge and thought better of it - (petrol is budgeted for already as its essential for work so I don't include it in this challenge)A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I spent £1.85 on postage and £1.00 on a pasty yesterday, making my total spends for the month £29.85 - yay, a whole 15p under budget! :rotfl::www: Saving for a deposit - Target £30k by 24/03/14 (30th Birthday!) :www:

When I first read this I was confused about why you had a duck and how it was broken then I assumed this was a cricket reference is that right? (these things confuse me sometimes:o)
Sorry PP just picked this up. I have a family addicted to cricket so reference to a duck was meant in cricket terms.
Not a bad week for me although I did spend a total of £2.30 at work. Still less than my budget of £10 so a green for me.
I'm going to try for less next week.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - DFW Nerd 323

I am going to pledge £30 this week though I am beginning to wonder why.. LOL!!!:rotfl:
No plans to go out (lots of homework and coursework to be handed in) and I have factored in a small splurge at uni. One of the days is so jam-packed with lectures, it's nice to go and have a coffee at one of the cafe's. Head becomes so jam packed with info that it's nice to go and just do nothing.. But I am only going to do this on one day. I am going to aim to cycle in every day as well. I am hoping that writing down all my plans will mean that I stick to them and hopefully stick to my budget and hopefully succeed..
Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone. One debt in 100 days £384/1264(£865 left)Pay all your debt off by xmas 2014 £276/18864NSD 4 and 4 in a row0 -
