Have you had a look at the Warm Front scheme? I got £4,000 to spend on heating improvements from them, just waiting for my nice new energy efficient boiler to be installed :D!!

Cheers I will check it out but I am hoping the heating fairies look kindly upon me and just keep making the boiler work or is that naive?

Hiya I would just like to say "hello" someone suggested i visited this thread, as i have issues with overspending. I have just joined this site this week and have a lot to sort out. No idea how your thread works, but i'll look in daily and pick it up as i go. is it ok to post my own thing as long as i'm posting buget amount and money spent or do you have another way of doing it ?

    thankyou

Hello there well just pick an amount for your budget for Sunday to Friday (or you can do a whole week if you are really good) then let us know how you get on. Some people include everything other only things they have not budgeted for else where. Do what works for you. Welcome aboard you are now a budgeteer.

Today spends were £1 on card at work so I could buy a twix and £3.50 on a bottle of wine for a night of dinner and scrabble at a friend's house. Woohoo for thursday tomorrow.

Good morning everyone, NSD for me today. I will start with my budgeted amount next thurday, when i get paid. I am a terrible overspender and money waster. Hence my debt issues and why i am on this site. What a Fabulous place to be, Im almost glad Im in a mess !!!!! or i would never have found this site. I have budgeted for my food, so What i will be budgeting for in this thread, is sundries. I have had £4 since monday to last me until next Thursday. This is of course not going to last till then but i am amazed at how I have made it last until now. I do have a plan to generate some more cash for next week, but I'll update on that if it works out. I am so pleased to be here and very gratefull for all the help and support, thankyou everyone.

Ditto! When I found this site, I was living in a house that I couldn't quite afford the rent for, and owed £300 to the electric company and £350 on a credit card for car insurance and gig tickets which I'd bought 4 months previously and still couldn't afford to pay off. Then I found this site and started budgeting, downshift-branding, meal planning etc - now I can comfortably afford all bills and have money left over to put into my savings each month!

Still resisting the heating and a NSD today - due to not getting out of bed until now! Blimmin' migraines, wish they'd go away :(

I hope your migraine has gone today! I get them quite often and last month I had one that lasted from a Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon - I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I'm also resisting putting the heating on. I've decided that the earliest I can turn it on is 1st November but if it stays as cold as it is today, I might have to give in.

    Hoping for a NSD today!

  • Hi, just found this thread and would like to give it a go next week if I may?

Quick question though, why do some of you leave Saturday out of the budget? I think that's probably the worst day of the week for spending for me so I'm not sure I'd get anything out of this challenge if I didn't include it!

Hiya, yes I wondered that too, if i had a free day i would undo all my weeks savings in and hour. So im including Saturday, so doing 7 days

Me too! Although I work every other Saturday so I'll maybe try and make up for the previous weeks spends on the Saturday-in-work weeks.

I'm really chuffed as yesterday was my 3rd NSD in a row. I nearly bought some chocolate in the afternoon but resisted.

I've broken my duck now though - as I was late this morning so didn't have time for breakfast. I bought a sausage bap at work - £1.20 for me today.

Nay mind - heating still off and the sun is shining.
