Got the rolls fitted at mine today, had 1.5 100mm rolls and half a 170mm roll left out of the 30 rolls which should do the shed nicely:)

I itch like mad now though even though I had a respirator, gloves and a boiler suit with a hood on.

I found that for the 170mm rolls being fitted near the eaves it was better to cut the roll into thirds (400mm wide) so that you could reach over and pull it into place easier than you could do with a full with roll.

I'm really not looking foward to fitting them tho.


I have quite a large home and the delivery driver told me he had been delivering similar amounts to small terraced homes so I guess some sort of scam may be taking place.

It seems like I am very lucky as I had a phone call to ask when I would like mine delivered - I was even given the time (within an hour) of the delivery!

Not necessarily a scam - I ordered 29 rolls of the thicker stuff simply because I wasn't sure about the size of my loft and was worried I'd miss the offer if I didn't order quickly I just assumed that with it being such a good price it meant that it was only a small - average amount And from reading this thread - I don't think I was the only one to do the same! :cool:

To the ones asking - yes it was an offer that was to the 1st 5,000 or something that ordered so ended fairly quickly! But someone said that it may happen again so just keep checking

Remember to check to see if you can get your loft insulated for free if you're on certain benefits as well!

Mine arrived on Thursday, around 28 rolls, I put my measurements into the caculator on their website and this is what it said I needed, I did add 2 extra rolls just in case but now that I look at it in my garage it seems an awful lot..still once its laid if theres anyleft it can go on freecycle. Just the small job of laying it now......

I put each roll in two black bags (one each end) and then taped them together to get them up into my loft because my loft hatch is tiny and I had to squeeze them through it. Once up there they were easy to lay as they just roll out like a duvet (mine was topping up so there was no cutting to fit inside the joists)

my insulation finally rolled (heh) up yesterday... tried to sweet talk the man into putting it up in my loft for me, but he wasn't having any of it (insurance he claims)
so son and heir and i have got most of the rolls up in the loft, now just need to lay the stuff!
