Well I'm really pleased with the service we got from The Build Center. They have phoned a few times - the 1st time apologising that there would be a delay (of around a week) because they were waiting for their suppliers to deliver it to them, then another phone call to arrange a delivery on a day hat suited me once they had their stock in, then I called them to change the date which they were fine about, they phoned to double confirm the delivery and left a message on my answerphone a couple of days before it was due to arrive, then the driver phoned to say he was 20 minutes away - then helped my OH put it all in the garage. Every time I spoke to them they were really friendly.
So thanks for a great service Newcastle Build Center :T
So glad the garage was cleared recently though! The rolls are bigger than I was expecting
Only slight problem was that we didn't get the free installation kit - did everybody else get theirs? Will phone them tomorrow to ask about it but just wanted to see if there was some shortage of them or something :undecided
Now just have to try and clear our untidy and pretty full loft, take out the flooring, fit the new insulation, and relay the flooring  What do you reckon - a couple of hours or so?
:rotfl:I'm a little angel
BUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

Me too and would have loved this as moving soon, anyone know anything as original dates were til 25th

It was for the first 5,000 orders, so possibly more than 100,000 rolls.
When ours was delivered the nice guy hinted it may be run again.
Worth watching out for.

29 rolls, you lot must live in mansions!

I got 9, and then discovered I actually only needed 6. The spare 3 were snapped up on freecycle as soon as the post went up!0 -
Horrible, horrible job!!!!!!!!!
I wish I hadn't offered to help, still itchy now.
One loft done and one to go.
Loads spare, it goes a long way.

we got the free installation kit, it's a cotton shopping bag, rubber gloves, plastic goggles ( dh was wearing these but soon couldn't see through them so took them off and says he's got a scratched eye now..) and a mouth mask.
I did some of it today - started poking downwards into crevices gave up after an hour and husband did another couple of hours, we're nearly half way through and it's horrible stuff. It breaks up if you try and heave a long bit upwards. We're doing under the tiles rather than the floor. It's staying up by itself so far - if it all flops out in the night I shall :eek:0 -
yippeeeeee arrived yesterday - was told would get 1 day notice but when called they said was ready so thought better take delivery while available so rushed home from shops and arrived 30mins later!!!
all gud ..got all 10 rolls...now the hard work begins!!!!!Saying Thank You doesn't cost anything :beer:0 -

87m area to cover so got the extra couple of rolls just in case. Not a mansion footballers wife style but hopefully this will reduce the £100 a month heating bill over winter.

Are you saying you are insulating the pitch of the roof ?
Two things if you are doing this, firstly it will have no effect on reducing your bills, as the floor of the attic needs to be insulated to keep the heat in the house, all you will do is make your loft warmer.
Secondly if you don't leave a gap for air movement you will have condesation problems and your roofing felt will rot quickly, which can lead to you replacing all the felt in the roof.
Pull the insulation out and lay it on top of your roofing joists, where it's supposed to go.0 -

That's true I'm sure, but in our case we are using the loft as a studio/workroom. It's above a garage and has a ground level door because it's built into a steep hillside, and a double glazed window to the front with a trickle vent. There is still a draft coming in from outside to the lower parts of the joists where it's boxed in with plywood. Not sure how to finish off the top parts of the roof which is like the sloping walls of the room. Did tongue and groove wood at our last house but doubt we can afford that this time.
Neighbour suggested foil backed plaster board, I'm thinking plywood as it doesn't have to be posh. We heat this room with a small convection heater. It isn't used every day.0
