Well made our tea and now making stock can you cast your eyes over what i've done and help me learn. Ta (I know it's basic stuff but I really am clueless)
Right, slow cooked the chicken.
Left juices in the slow cooker.
Prized chicken off for meal and rest for chicken pie tomorrow. Everything else went back in the slow cooker.
Added veg that didn't get used
Added ved cooking water.
Is this ok? Should I have added the veg and the cooking water? Also would you have added anything else?
Any comments would be fab. Don't know if I should post it here but everytime I post on the main board my post gets moved to somewhere else. Bare with me. Thank you0 -
Hi all:hello:
I rarely read the Daily Thread - but had to say "Thanks for that Diva" - as I think that's a useful Thought for the Day for many of us - it certainly is for me - having had another "verbal attack" on me in recent hours (not for the first time - and I expect not for the last time either....
..sigh.....). I have realised that the reason they probably do this is because they appear to have had a "harder" childhood than I did - so not to take it personally - they have probably got into the habit of speaking pretty "strongly" (shall we say) to people - particularly those they sense had things a bit easier (but "lap of luxury" it definitely wasn't....) and maybe don't even realise that the majority of us don't speak so harshly to each other....Sorry to hear that Ceridwen. I have to say I have always found you to be fair and kind. Just take heart from the fact that you are a better example of how someone should conduct themselves. Don't let it spoil your Sunday.((((((((_))))))
If you two have a problem with any user on here, email abuse and don't bring it on here, its very tiresome.
Nothing OS to report, I don't do OS

ceridwen- all the dehydrating sounds fun! I tried to dry out some slices of pear in the oven last week but it didn't quite work-i think i needed my oven slightly hotter.
I'm not too sure about oven drying - maybe if you have an Aga - as I certainly don't - then dehydrator it is.
Of course there is the suggestion in one of my books to:
"install a 150 watt light bulb inside your oven. If you need to, use a worker's lamp (a bulb cage at the end of a long cord). Leave oven off and the heat of the bulb does the drying. Improve results by adding a small fan to circulate the air."
Errr....somehows I don't think I'll be trying that one - I'd get more than a little nervous about how safe (or otherwise) that might be....
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
REVERBE - Aw shucks! Thanks for that comment. BTW - how are you these days? How is the stay with flatmate going? (you were concerned about this last time I noticed...).0 -
Hello,
I haven't been on here for months, due to several reasons.
However, I still do the MSE and O.S. every day even though I don't get on here much.
I had DGD for the week-end. just dropped her backhome 15mns. ago.
She has a cold and is teething. DD1 didn't change DGD1's nappy during the night (as it never needs to be changed) result
DGD1 has terrible nappy rash/burns. DD1 in tears, I have smeared DGD's bottom with egg white for 2 days and has cooled down and is no longer sore.
Has anyone on here done the egg white treatment?
DD1 thought I was going loopy, ""What? put egg white on a baby's bottom???
" yes it works" said I.
O.S.
I made DD1 & SiL2b a roast beef dinner and HM apple crumble & custard.
DH had rump steak. I'm spoiling him extra because he has just had the all clear on his breast Cancer scare. Yup, men do get breast cancer.
He has a lump the size of a baggette in his breast.
Got back from a week in Italy and had a phone call to say my DMum has had 3 heart attacks. We landed on Sunday and drove to Reading on Monday, tottaly shattered.
Stupidlly I made some soup to take up for her .... nil by mouth!!
I have 9 chicken carcases simmering for stock, my local butcher throws them out after removing the breasts and leg joints. He is so pleased that I can take them away because he has to pay for food to be removed.
BM is about to ping so must see to that now.
Have missed lots of friends on here.
