Molly - if you need to get rid of the smell of sick, or anything else obnoxious, use neat alcohol, something like vodka - the alcohol destroys the enzymes. Works every time. I've been there with sons overdoing it, too!

Thanks for the tip. Without going into details he practically sicked up a bottle of neat vodka:mad::mad::eek::eek:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
sorry, but i just had to smile at the irony of cleaning up vodka sick with vodka0

Good afternoon

I've had a pretty productive OS morning, but have managed to use up all energy doing so
Dinner is cooking away nicely - chicken with celery, leeks and muchrooms in a white sauce for me, chicken in white sauce for DDs.
I also made some fruit crumble for afters and some oatie biscuits, which didn't last long as DDs have friends round.
My washing machine is dying, but have managed to get the load out of the way - just needed a few extra spins  so that needs addressing this week. I also got the ironing done, hence why there's little energy left!
I would love chickens HJ, but have a thing about birds :eek: The flapping freaks me out. I'm a wreck if we have to walk near pigeons in town. DD2 thinks it's funny to push my wheelchair into a group of them :eek::eek::eek: Minx!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope your son's feeling ok Molly. His antics bring back memories
I must have been an awful teenager, as I did the exact thing to my mum. I know it can't be easy for you either (((HUGS))) Perhaps you both need to have a chat about why he is drinking to such an excess? I hope you can both work things out. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
hi tired mum, I'm glad your son is more settled. (((hugs)))) to you.
Maybe try carky camble (sp?) ducks pipkin- i don't remember them flapping too much when we had them and their eggs are delish!0 -
Hi, I've been having a busy week and haven't had a chance to post. So far today I've cleaned the car inside and out, cut DS2 hair ready for our holiday and started packing the hand luggage. I'm still desperately trying to get everything ready to go away next week.
Does anybody have any ideas to keep a 4 year old occupied on a plane? I'm hoping he will sleep at some point (he better had we'll be on the plane for 24 hours!) but need ideas of small, light things to take. I've got a pile of colouring / dot to dot / activity books but I'm stuck for other ideas.
I'd better go put the dinner on, or we'll be going hungry!
HUGS to all that need them!0 -

Well, I've had a productive day so far;
Made marinade for ribs and marinaded said ribs
Taken meat off two chickens (minus some we ate last night)
Made big pot of stock with carcasses
Made big bowl of coronation chicken
Froze half remaining chicken
Put the other half in fridge for tomorrow's supper
Made soup out of leftovers including yesterday's gravy
Made 15 soft rolls
Made a blackberry, blueberry and raspberry almond cobbler
Washed a load of laundry and dried it outside
Revised regular French verbs in the present tense plus a few common irregular ones:cool:
Downloaded the sound track of The Boat That Rocked (watched on Friday courtesy of Lovefilm) to my MP3 player
Still to do
Cook ribs
Make tomato salad
Bake spuds
Bake sour dough
Make tomorrow's packed lunches
Watch the highlights of the rugby later -Worcester had a 'good defeat' at Leicester
Collect ds1 from school when he returns from field trip
Put all of ds1's clothes in the wash:rolleyes:
Watch State of Play courtesy of Lovefilm (the film not the TV series which we have also recently had from Lovefilm- very good, hope the film is not a disappointment).
Drink half a bottle of cab. sauv.:beer:0 -

:rotfl:.....thats for me to know....well there wasnt much point in going back to sleep once I was woken up:o;):silenced: .
Thanks for all the good responses to my birdcage veil......at least I now know others think it is nice and it isnt me having odd taste:D.
am just in the middle of washing, drying and ironing for tomorrow. Have made white rolls, 5 jars of pickled onions, a batch of hobnobs to take away and a sausage casserole is in the oven. Have also occupied DS who is annoyed that nothing is happening as we are too busy sorting stuff out for hols:rolleyes:
OH has messed with his pc:rolleyes:......however he has the cats tray to clean out and the fish to change.....I dont care when he does it but he will be doing it. He is asleep catching flies on the chair at the mo.
Tiredmum glad to hear DS has settled and is safe there it must be a relief to you. Nice you can all go and see him. i can see why your DD is scared to go.....mental illness and associated problems can be scary and unsettling for peoples relatives/friends, just let her adjust to it in her own time.0 -
Thiftylady.. wow! I've so much to do still. I'm think i'm trying to do too much at once. I'm not saying I live in a pigsty but if i'm going to be more aware of money saving OS then I have to be organised. I need for my house to be clean tidy and decluttered before I can concentrate on batch cooking, freezing and continually making my own bread. I will get there but I feel planning is the key. It's great to read what the more experienced mums and people are able to do. I'll endeavour to be more organised!!thriftlady wrote: »Well, I've had a productive day so far;
