    Day two on the diet

No cravings but have had a head ache today. But I am pretty stressed and used to getting head aches when stressed so it doesn't have to be the diet. Also I have ran out of ADs (will get more tomorrow) so that could explain it as well. I shouldn't eat nuts during the first two weeks of the diet but I am going to get some as an emergency stash. I didn't take into account today that DD goes to swimming so there is a long gap between lunch and tea and I would have needed something to eat in between. And I don't think I still drink enough. Drank more today than yesterday thou.

I still don't sleep without anxious dreams and that is probably why I am so dissatisfied with everything. Except I should be happy because already after two days I feel lighter (i.e. not bloated) and water retention seems to be reducing.

So tomorrow I need more snacks. I have cheese and avocado and while DD is in beavers I can go and stock up with some nuts. Oh and the head ache could be due to reduction in caffeine. I have decided to keep my coffee intake to two cups per day and when it comes to the tea as little as possible but go with how I feel. Today it was one cup of coffee and two teas.

DD seems to like the new food regime. She even said that I should be a dinner lady in her school because I do nice food. This is first I get a compliment like that from her. She has abandoned her serials (sp?) and also wants to have cooked breakfast in the morning. And plate is always empty. Don't worry she gets lots of carbs at school and also I offer her piece of toast in the mornings if she wants it. But I don't think it does any harm to her at all to have less carbs while eating at home with me. She seems to enjoy it. (This is the girl who had been baking fairy cakes at after school club and then swapped her fairy cake to roasted chicken leg from her own request)

Yum. sounds good. Make sure you are drinking water. I had a headache today. I think it was due to dehydration in the hot weather.

It sounds fab Marru. Keep up the good work. :j

awww how lovely what DD said about your food.

I should try your way of changing my intake of food, especially if it reduces water retention. I have a bad problem with that, especially in my feet.

Thanks Aesop, fat is not your enemy, carbs are. But you need low carb veggies especially lots of salad leaves. The book I have been reading says it well: if it is a leaf, eat it.

One coffee consumed, some emails and a statement printed with the map. Just realised that I can't take lunch with me today as it would be cooking in the car while I go to the Cafcass meeting. So I need to grab something on my way to work. We shall see what I can find.

    Off to shower I dash...

Sound's like you could do with one of those chilled bag's and a freezer block, I'v got 1 for when we go on day trip's, I put the freezer block in the freezer overnight then when I do the sandwich's I put the block in the bottom of the chiller bag and the sandwich box/bag on top, keep's thing's cold for hour's, also if you don't have a freezer block you could use a bottle of water/dilute pop/ drink's carten in it's place, that way the food stay's cold and you'v got a cold drink.

Yep, my lunch box is a cool bag but you are right it needs the freezer block. Anyway I managed to find nice deli and got lush salad with chicken. Nomming it now.

Cafcass was good. Very good. Anyhoo, back to eating and then getting some work done.

    Food update.

So yesterday I was starving after dropping DD off to the beavers. So I grabbed some turkey slices and cheese and olives on the way to visit a colleague. It was yum. So when it was time to feed DD I wasn't hungry. I cooked some king prawns and served them for her with some tomato, cucumber, olives and cheese and put my share of the prawns into a big salad for my lunch today.

Then again at 4 I was hungry so I ate rest of the turkey and cheese from yesterday and now I am not hungry again when DD is eating so she is having pork chop (cooked in the slowcooker today) with spring greens, tomato and olives. I am eating mine later or again it ends up into my tomorrow's lunch salad.

In three days I have lost 1.5 kilos, that is a pound per day. I am not kidding myself thinking that this is fat tissue, it is the excess water that is now leaving my system.

Anyway - aim for tonight is to get DD to bed promptly and then have a good rest. I am running on very low and there is still two busy days before I can crash on Sunday.
