And I finally bit the bullet after missing out a few times... 30gb ipod video - ordered late Wednesday night, arrived first thing Friday morning - even though it said 5-7 days.
Ipod looks like new, came with lead, headphones, disc etc, and in a refurb box.

    Pleased as punch!

Hi shona, did it come with anything to charge it?

Looks like it's just up North according to their website. Cheapest I've seen down here is in HMV at £9.99!

How do you charge them btw? Do they come with chargers or will i need to buy that separately. If so, again where from?

My HMV sells them for £4.99! You can charge them through the USB cable if it doesn't come with a mains adaptor.
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots
  • you wont get a mains adaptor - i got 1 off ebay £3.50

All Tescos are selling Nano skins for £1 they are white box stock - odd product line best to ask where they are (mostly at aisle ends).

Oh yeah - sorry - that's what I meant when I said lead - that transfers and also charges.
I'm dead chuffed with mine - have ordered a hard 'crystal' case from ebay for about a fiver, and meantime knitted one so it doesn't get scratched cos it looks so lovely and shiny!!

In fact - if anyone wants a snazzy case - try making one! Lok on http://www.etsy.com/ for inspiration (just type in ipod cozy or ipod case) - some of the sellers on there will sell to the UK too...

  • How long does it take to charge it before it turns on?

The screen on mine flickers when its charging but no logos or battery indicator appears onscreen. Is this right?
  • I really have not got a clue about Ipods at all (other than boyf wanting one for his birthday!)

Was looking at the 2BG on the apple refurb store, but it doesnt state whether it comes with all the software etc to actually put songs onto the ipod?

So whats missing from these that the new ones have?

The Cd I have contains Itunes which is what you need to put songs on the IPOD.

It does come with an install CD for iTunes I believe but you can download it for free from Apple and that way you'd have the latest version v.7. When you use iTunes to load music it will also update the Nano firmware to v1.2. HTH

That's difficult to say I'd leave it for an hour before you try it but I think a full charge takes even longer (3 hours?). Normally when it's charging the Nano screen goes grey and there's like a no entry sign displayed. I assume the backlight gets switched off as it's difficult to read.
