It was my advice to email for a free case if you did not get one. HOWEVER....the first one they sent me was faulty as it did not have a hole in it to slide the ipod mini into it - it was sealed all the way round!, so they send another and its the same! I have emailed the company that make them (Speck) and they said it should not be like that. Managed to get a silicone cover for it for £1.97 in currys digital yesterday - dont know what to do with these 2 faulty covers now - RRP is £30!
Thanks for the advice re: asking for some covers - FYI - I was sent the ipod socks - very nice too!0 -

I check the Apple site regularly to see what bargains can be had.
Everybody can check out the bargains whenever they like and buy whatever they like.
Until Martin Lewis decides it gets to a point where your abusing his personal website for your own personal gain and blatantly rubbing other users noses in it causing unrest.0 -
My daughter will now be without an ipod for her birthday because of some of you lot.
As I said in an earlier post - grab them while you can. I don't act as a "trader" but I do take advantage of deals sometimes to help reduce my costs, which means MY children can get better presents than they otherwise might.
Best thing to do really is not be honest, keep your mouths shut, and if you buy two of something don't tell anyone because it only upsets the "everyone has to get one of everything" socialists on here. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Buying a few can be ok, it's when you get people buying a dozen or more, and sometimes just to sell them all and not even keep one.
Remember the site (and similar sites like it) work because people help each other out by posting these offers. Being greedy and abusing that is what will ruin the site, and does ruin it for others. Basically just be respectful when you buy and don't be too selfish."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

How do you interpret visiting another website and purchasing goods as abusing this site ?
I have had several bargains from the Apple site not just the iPods mentioned on here.0 -

It was a general comment. Wolfman nailed it on the head. Read 2 posts up.0 -
The bottom line is that it is a long drawn out argument to which no one has the right answers. Some of us choose to take advantage of cheap prices, it happens in life, whether or not the deal was first spotted on this site. However it is a fair comment to say it might limit the opportunities of others, who knows?
Either way I didn't get a thanks count like mine by not posting some great offers in this community!0 -
Yes very true alan. Anyway - this thread has kind of gone off topic....
I wonder if there will ever be any more iPods at £70? Seems unlikely now:(The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0 -
I told my sister about the ipods going cheap so she went to the refurb site and put 1 in the basket, then had a discussion with boyfriend about the fact that apple use cheap labour in China?, and then phoned his brother to see if he wanted one too, said yes. By the time she came to pay they had all gone!!!! Well miffed.0

Sorry, but as for the 'personal gain' argument - don't we all use this site for our own personal gain?
Those who are arguing about people buying a few, are clearly those who were slow off the mark and didn't get one. It's called bitterness, not socialism.Matched Betting and Casino Bagging Target: £3500 (Masters degree course fees)
