Isn't the effort directed to buying stuff less expensively rather than to lining the pockets of a few traders? It appears you stopped four other members from benefitting from this offer.

I'm not a trader, I'm a parent struggling to keep up like everyone else. I managed to buy on my CC, sell on (1 on ebay, 2 to colleagues) and will be able to pay off the CC before any interest accrues.

My daughter gets a real surprise on her birthday - an actual ipod, not some cheapo twenty quid mp3 player from asda or similar.

    Where's the harm  .

But thanks for taking the shine off. on a real downer now.

Ah don't be on a downer phanco. On these forums there are always people with different opinions on the matter of buying and selling on. Some people agree with it, some disagree. At the end of the day you can do what you want to do, free country. And it's not as if you do it all the time, you did a wise thing of buying 4, selling 3 and getting the 4th one effectivly for free for your daughter (bet it's a pink one??;)) - good on you and I hope your daughter likes the iPod!! :T
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)

Face bothered, i bought 10 of the 20GB Colour ones, and i intend to sell 9 of them on for a tasty profit. If you want to pick on someone, leave phanco alone and come after me.

Shoot me down dead for seeing the opportunity to make some money and clear a bit of my student overdraft. Such is life.

Absolutely - I do this quite often to offset the cost of what I buy. There have even been occasions when BOGOF or 342 offers have meant that I have sold items on ebay for LESS than the street price of 1, so both me and the other person get good deals.
There are always people on this forum who believe "Grab it while you can" means that you shouldn't grab it but wait a few days until they get round to reading the forum to see what offers there are, so that it can be "fair".

Not targetting anyone, but I personally believe it goes against what the site and community are for. There's no point in having a community, if when an offer gets posted a few people buy everything up leaving none for the rest.

I always buy one for myself and take the view that I saved money on the product.

I think its disgusting what some of you traders do to deprive us. My daughter will now be without an ipod for her birthday because of some of you lot. I cant afford to buy her one full price and that was a bargain.

    Thanks alot.
    Waddle you do eh?

why doesn't alanshave sell one of his ten to ricflairandy at cost? That way ricflairandy's daughter gets a birthday present, alanshave gets brownie points and karma (and should still make a few hundred quid profit on the other eight), the community status of MSE is preserved and the world is a better place all round?

People reading this website gain an advantage that others do not have. I know I have saved loads, and yes on the Ipod deal as well. As to how far you take the advantage is down to the individual, but some things are best unsaid to keep the status quo.

Good luck to you, I have bought 4 x Ipods recently and have saved a tidy sum. If I had a bit of spare cash then I too would have done the same thing.

I check the Apple site regularly to see what bargains can be had.
Everybody can check out the bargains whenever they like and buy whatever they like.
