Who/where did you contact to get the covers ?

I emailed CS at Apple. Got a reply the next day.

On the basis that I had bought 4 ipods at that time, I was sent the ipod mini "socks" FOC.

Got back home this weekend so finally got my hands on my 20gb Color iPod.

It looks virtually new. All sealed, not a single scratch or graze. Came with a Usb cable. Am very happy with it.

Just installed Rockbox too which is brilliant. No more Apple firmware or iTunes! I can just drag and drop music via Windows explorer. Plus it supports about a dozen formats now, namely ogg vobis which a lot of my collection is in now.

My 20g origional one for £99 arrived yesterday. It looked new, and was easy to set up as we already had a mains charger.
I will be watching this thread, and the site as I am after some for the children for christmas now.

Currys in Staples Corner had Logik 20GB iPod skins in white and pink with belt clip for 47p. They also have a very nice Luxa iPod case in leather in both black and burgandy red for 97p. It has a zip around design and belt clip https://www.tucano.com

    Cheers.

Thanks for this. Got one of each for the grand sum of £1.44!! No black ones left by the way, only the burgundy.

I'm currently 'on hold' on the phone to Apple Customer Services. Have been on the phone for nearly half an hour  trying to get a USB cable which was missing from my order earlier this week.

I think I've been passed onto an Indian call centre. The guy took my phone number to call me back as he claimed he couldn't hear me...how then did he hear my phone number :undecided ? After asking for each of my details at least twice, he has said that Apple do not have stock of the cable and is trying to "fight your case" (sic) with another department!

After trying to chat to me about the weather - yes really!! - he has now confirmed with his "other department" that they will send a cable.

Phew! 34min 45sec phone call (and that's not including my initial call to Apple). Now I'm late for work :o .
You should have just emailed them - much easier and quicker. They seem to reply in about 30 mins if that.

It was my advice to email for a free case if you did not get one. HOWEVER....the first one they sent me was faulty as it did not have a hole in it to slide the ipod mini into it - it was sealed all the way round!, so they send another and its the same! I have emailed the company that make them (Speck) and they said it should not be like that. Managed to get a silicone cover for it for £1.97 in currys digital yesterday - dont know what to do with these 2 faulty covers now - RRP is £30!
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)

Bought 4 ipod Minis from apple store for £60 each - sold three on for £80 each, got the cash in the bank before the CC bill hits the mat.

four (effectively free) ipod mini now tested and sitting in the cupboard for daughters birthday.

Thanks to everone who puts in so much effort in this community!

Isn't the effort directed to buying stuff less expensively rather than to lining the pockets of a few traders? It appears you stopped four other members from benefitting from this offer.

Absolutely agree with you. Apple should restrict the amount of iPods an individual can buy. There were so many of these refurbs that turned up on eBay immediately.
