I am very nervously hoping to buy my son an iPod which I have promised him for ages and it is his birthday today. I am on the refurb site now but I have no idea which one to get! Should it be the one with the click wheel or not? Is 20gb big enough? I can't see any iPod minis which people on here are talking about. This is a minefield - do I get mini, nano or which? Can anyone help me quick? We haven't very much money at the moment (paying back debts) so I have been holding on hoping for a miracle - a bargain but just what he would need.

The minis so far have been re-appearing on the sight so it might be worth waiting. The 20GB are great if you have lots of music but for the same price you could just about get an iPod Nano which would make your son look pretty cool to his mates :D

well got mine this morning from tnt
problem is one came with the firewire adapter instead of usb.
called cust service, they wil refund but will not send me a replacement pice or ipod.
for this price it is still worth buying the adapter for under a fiver on ebay but still a tad annoying.

If I were you I would buy a firewire card for your pc - the data transfer rate is much faster.

I got my 20Gb with colour screen delivered today. It's in a plain brown box but everything inside seems brand new. Cellophane film over everything. Well pleased. Now just got to spend the next 8 months filling it up with music!

PS. It cost me the £70 plus I bought some protective film for me Nano that cost £10 but kicked in the free postage so £80 for the lot delivered.
    BE NICE - IT'S FREE!

Than usb? Mayb Usb1/1.1, but not Usb 2.0.

Firewire supports up to 400Mbps whereas Usb 2.0 supports 480Mbps.

Get a Usb cable from eBay, it'll set you back about a fiver.

Green with envy, me.... wish I hadn't swithered.
The one that's on the web-site just now at £99.88 - it says 67% off - why would that one be £299.99 originally - much more than the click wheel one which now costs £117.50 (originally £189)?
    Is it a newer generation?
    thanks

Argue with Apple because I'm pretty certain it said USB cable when you clicked on Learn more... It does with the others on sale.

The cheaper one at £99.98 is the older generation. The reason it cost more originally is that each newer generation of iPod is cheaper in price than the older generation (well sort of). The click wheel is great and worth paying the extra.
