I wont ever post a freebie or offer on here again - for fear that MSE Martin will do the same again, advertise it to the masses and make his own members miss out again.
It was a stupid move and it really has cost alot of people dearly.
He spread the word about something that really wasnt his to spread, if those GMTV viewers who didnt know about the coupon policy wanted to save money they should of come here and figured it out themselves! MSE Martin trying to save the world money just cost us all a heck of a lot. Thanks for nothing.

I know i prob will get edited but...

Does anyone else think martins a jack a $$?

In the end he saves people money on this site... but come on he gets commision, fame and other funds coming in so it earns him a decent living! more than what i saved on coupons... and to fund his fame i became a casualty.. because i regularly used coups and stayed by the rules... thanks to something out of my control (martin thanks... ) i have lost alot.

Has anyone e-mailed Martin to ask him to comment on his actions on this board?

I would do so myself but don't want to bombard him with e-mails. One read of this thread makes people's opinions clear.
  • If this is true I'm really upset and annoyed, Martin Lewis and his team do great work with Council tax, mortgage, PPI etc reclaiming, but coupons were not his baby, his team do not spend hours searching for them, helping with coupon quieries and maintaining this thread.
It seems to me that he has gone on tv with this (all our hard work) and screwed us over. It's pretty obvious that a policy that is not on Tescos posters, leaflets, and the website is not for national advertising.
We never tried to keep it a secret and all for ourselves, we have welcomed and helped newbies and shared all finds, but instead of just being satisfied with it being on the site, and appearing in the newsletter periodically it appears Martin was determined to give it the widest audience possible and kill it.

IMHO, I think Martin's ego needs brought down to size claiming that it was all his doing

I agree with you Princess. It is also the greed of many customers, photocopying altering and trying to sneak in extra coupons. The job of the cashier has become increasingly difficult, but many of us did our very best to stamp out coupon abusers. On the other hand we welcomed true couponeers, giving tips and advice. Sharing stories and incidents. I, personally have no idea if it is a trial or permanent. I sincerely hope that it is a trial. I do fear for my job, like us all.
So, for COUPON ABUSERS who looked for a SHORT TERM GAIN. You WERE WARNED!!!! THANKYOU FOR NOTHING.
For GENUINE COUPONEERS, it has been lovely coming on here. I have saved alot of money and THANKYOU each one one of you. xxx

Have been asked where my store is...it's obvious that the events of today have been brought about by a couple of things...a) Martin on GMTV and ...more importantly....B) COUPON ABUSERS....don't want the latter in my neck of the woods.I have never knowingly abused a moc...admit to once using a moc that was 1 day out of date ( not knowingly ,realised when I was getting another lot together for shopping later in the week)and in the early days did use a Times moc on on the wrong day at self-scan, SA did say it was OK, as coupon was valid for months... but got told off by coupon-mad and never did that again !!!

I wouldn't panic too much as it is obviously not a national blanket ban...bet things will be back to normal inside a week or two.
