thank you for the reply.
my phone is a new nokia 3220 it's on virgin payasyougo and the imei is 351860010178392.
i tried the trycktill.com site but it didn't give me a code, maybe it's shutdown?
i tried unlockme.com and it didn't list a nokia 3220, and then i downloaded the unlock program from download.com (following browntoa's link) which gave me a list of seven codes, of which i tried the ones ending in 7 and in 1, which didn't work either, so i've used up two of my lives
i checked the thread this morning and noticed that since i posted you say the last two 3220's you tried to unlock on easy didn't work, and that this made you suspect that nokia has changed the codes for the 3220s, so maybe they're being tricky at nokia hq?
but i still have three gos left on my phone, so if you think you have a code that will help i'm game!
by the way, if the codes (or the cable method if codes fail) work, will it work as a normal o2 phone home and away? i wanted an o2 phone but after waiting for two weeks for my local phones4u to find me a 3220 on o2, i got fed up waiting and decided to buy the cheapest new 3220 and unlock it. or try to unlock it!
this provider protectionism game the companies like to play is fine if you live in the city and have mobile shops on every corner to choose from, but for country bumpkins like me the notion of choice is often a slight and elusive thing! and buying over the net is fine when things work, but when they don't companies don't answer emails and things take forever being posted around, so i try to avoid it!
anyway, thanks heaps for your help, you're a trouper for a grand cause!
and even if the codes don't work it's trying that counts :T :T :T

i think it will only work on virgin if not unlocked
