gifteddante wrote:Well ignoring criminal gangs just now, take stiffnuts69 for example, His/Her IMEI Number is IMEI 359*********588 and He/She has a Nokia 2610 - One simple phonecall from ANYONE could have that phone rendered useless.
you can go into any phone shop and see 100s of imei numbers all on the stickers on the boxes if you need any0 -

I pm'd Browntoa last night about starting a new thread so this one will be closing anyway once that is done.
Any further posts by giftedante promoting another website for unlocking phones will be deleted, not merely edited, and the matter referred to abuse.
Why is it that when someone, anyone, even a newbie like me suggests something for the benefit of the users they are always pownced on by the "Power Posters" and "Ridiculed" The publishing of IMEI numbers is not a safe thing to do. As previously explained aside the criminal gangs etc using them to clone phones etc, it is very easy to block anyones phone which would renter it unuseable with a short phonecall and even over the net nowadays. I was not advertising any sites, I provided a direct link to software that individuals could use in their own privacy to unlock their phones, thus eliminating the, albeit, slight risk.
If you read back you will see that I am only trying to pass on my knowledge to others with the aim of making it, if just a little, safer.0 -
