all new nokias have imei hard programmed into chip and if someone knew how to change it, they can only change it to one from a certain list - not any imei.
if they could use it then there would be 2 phones live with the same imei, but how would this affect the owner of the genuine one? their phone would still work the same and the sim hasnt been cloned so the call costs wouldnt be affected0 -

Well ignoring criminal gangs just now, take stiffnuts69 for example, His/Her IMEI Number is IMEI 359*********588 and He/She has a Nokia 2610 - One simple phonecall from ANYONE could have that phone rendered useless.0 -
