hey all...
My friend recently gave me his older phone Nokia 6111 which had been on a plan. The phone is Locked with Optus Network and i need to know how would you unlock this unfortunately i do not have the sim card it came with, i have had a previous quote of $75.00 for a store too professionally do it, and i believe this is too much. i have seen other posts for this model phone but none seem to be locked with Optus, This is the first time i am doing this so even the most basic of information would be fantastic.

Hi all,

First time poster here..please be gentle !

I have a nokia 6230i (locked to orange) and i have got the IMEI code and checked the given sites for the unlock code, i have added the new sim (O2) to the phone and tried to enter the unlock code but it wont let me type letters only numbers.

IMEI: 356644009008280

What am i doing wrong?

as a uk forum, we only have the code settings for uk networks

Thanks for your reply but I have already been through the first post before i asked the question, i cannnot find where it will help with not being able to type letters in, the code starts with #pw and it won't let me use letters, just numbers.

I have done everything that i think i should, i've typed in the short code to find the IMEI number and then put that into the website to find the code but that's where i'm stuck. It tells me to enter the restriction code and i've tried that but no letters will type in, only numbers.

If you meant for me to read the first post because you can't help with unlocking my phone then i'm even more confused as to why others with the same phone have had help here.. :-/
