You only need RFL to park a vehicle on the road.

If you needed all three, the Police wouldn't need to use ANPR to improve their statistics, as they would just need to sit on their fat ar5es and get the CPS to send court summonses to the registered address (if vehicle is registered, of course).

The offences relating to MOT and insurance are DRIVING a vehicle without them, not OWNING.

The links above to case law say different and I was of the same opinion as you but proven wrong. Apparently using (which is the letter of the law not driving) a vehicle includes having it parked and immobile, even with the axle seized up.

You obviously havn't read this thread through, you need MOT ( where appropriate ) Insurance and a valid Road Fund Licence ( Tax Disc ) to have a vehicle on the road, none of these are required if the vehicle is kept off road, you only then require a SORN for the vehicle.

  • Update:

Got a letter through from the DVLA, £78 fine which must be paid by 28/11/2009.

No costs for towing, storage and clamping. Which is good, but being on JSA there is no way I can afford to pay that.

    Could anyone recommend any actions?

Thanks for all the posts so far :T
